Nausea/ Vomiting and soda
Nausea/ Vomiting and soda
I have found that when I get terribly nauseous the only thing that settles my stomach is a coke or Dr. pepper am I the only one with this problem? Before I knew I was pregnant I was drinking 1 to 2 rockstars a day and a soda the rest of the time was water. I feel like my body has had a hard time adjusting to no soda or only one 20oz a day.

I lived off pineapple soda and milkshakes the first 2-3 months of this pregnancy and with my first it was sunflower seeds and root beer. You eat and drink what you can until the constant nausea passes or lessens a bit. My sickness didn't pass until almost my third trimester but I was able to eat better after 24 weeks.

I am hoping it gets better I noticed my nausea medicine has seemed less effective the days I do not have atleast 1 soda, when I drink a soda I feel a change and if I drink too much water I feel horrible... I am only 12 weeks so who knows how much longer this will go on or of it will pass.

I haven't been able to drink water these past two weeks. I take sips but I instantly feel sick. I have been drinking coconut water instead ??♀️

I felt the same during my first 4 months and water made it so much worse. I replaced my coke with Sprite because of the caffeine. the Sprite helped with my morning sickness and nausea. Snack on some saltines too. I tried sparkling water which helped also.

Eat and drink what ever you need to, to get food down and be less sick. If its too bad, your dr can give you medicine to help

I was a pretty heavy coke drinker before I got pregnant and I haven't had much since I found out. I'm 10+6 with horrible all day sickness. I SO BADLY WANT COKE but I'm so scared the gas will make me even more bloated and nauseous. How do you ladies overcome that fear?! Or does it not make you bloated? ?

Soda was the only thing that helped me too! I drank 3 monsters a day plus soda before this and never water so the best thing I can say is that a lot of the nausea I felt was from my body wanting the caffeine and bubbles so I drank Sunkist or Coke in cans because they stay the most bubbly so it helped and the small bit of caffeine helped my head aches and urge for caffeine so if you drank rockstars I would suggest the same! Although it's not the healthiest you do what you can to get thru the nausea and now at 37 weeks I've been drinking nothing but water and healthy foods and have a healthy growing baby still so don't worry!

In my first trimester, carbonated drinks were my best friends. Pepsi and Solo were life savers for me. Heartburn, nausea, headaches etc. all went away after a sip of Pepsi or solo. However, after my morning sickness went away in my second trimester, I couldn't handle carbonated drinks anymore. Cause thats when trapped wind became an issue and I couldn't burp! I know have trapped wind problems so I avoid carbonated drinks. Sucks..

Well it feels good to know others have been through the same thing. I don't feel as bad and if my sickness eases up in the 2nd trimester I'll definitely stop drinking soda.... I just found out that it helps me out so much, but felt kind of bad drinking soda everyday ?

Carbonated drinks still are my go to for belly problems. I still get nausea at 17 weeks and so at work having nearly 2 glasses of root beer (caffeine free one) as it's often busy and running around serving food that smells terrible (fish gets me every time) it helps. Same with saltines.
