Ovulation question... I feel dumb for asking but if your period is a week late (not pregnant) do you…

So then i probably haven't ovulated yet? My last period was late (not normal for me) and now I'm not sure when I'll ovulate this month. ? We use NFP and I've lost track.

I might buy an opk until you get back on track if you're ttc. If you're trying NOT to get pregnant I might use condoms this cycle.

Oh no no no lol not ttc. Well (tmi) i finished my period a week ago (it was late almost 7 days) so now i don't know when I'm supposed to ovulate this cycle (to avoid pregnancy). I feel like I ovulated yesterday or today(cramping and back pain) but I can't imagine ovulating this soon after my period.

If af is "late", it usually means your previous ovulation was later than normal. When af comes, the first day is considered the start of a new cycle. Ovulation timing the previous cycle doesn't necessarily affect when you will O on the next cycle.

O day can vary from month to month, but typically the length of time from O to af (your luteal phase) doesn't vary much for each individual. So if you know when you O'ed, it's pretty easy to know when to expect af.

I use nfp and you shouldn't be basing it on your last period. When you see fertile mucus, you are ovulating or about to ovulate.

I don't normally base it off of my period. But I'm normally very regular and predictable. I normally do cervical checks and I've been second guessing myself ever since.
