do you ever just feel like...
A big effin failure as a mom. Especially when everyone is telling you 'well this is how i did it' 'you're holding her too much' 'she's not very independent because of you' 'just let her cry a little'

You are not a failure as a mom! You sound like a pretty amazing mom from yur post! You care about your child, you don't want them to be upset, you do your research to make decisions.
Being a mom is hard though and I second guess things all the time and feel like a bad mom when something happens (ie/ hitting baby's head getting them into car seat etc). But we are superheroes!

In the beginning I was honestly so sensitive about receiving advice. I took everything as a criticism and it really hurt me. I think I was just in this position where I was working harder than I'd ever worked for something I cared about more than anything, and any suggestion that I wasn't doing it right crushed my spirit a little.
But in time, trust me, this will roll off your shoulders. By now I know I'm a damn good mom and no one will tell me otherwise. I can listen to advice (or even criticism) and respond without taking it to heart. Hang in there. You're doing what's best for your baby ?

Sorry 2 more things to add:
1- if this isn't a bad day but you feel like this more often, please talk to your doctor about it. It could be post partum anxiety or depression
2 - for other people that you care about, think about an approach for each of them. I want my hubby to feel a part of the decisions so I would say "I want to talk to you about starting food. This is what my research says, this is what doctor says, etc so I think we should do this. What to you think?"
Meanwhile other people I've just ignored or "set straight" and some family I put in their place after getting really annoyed.
Involve hubby but Stand up for yourself! You're doig it all right! Hugs!

It's definitly ppd. But i can't afford to be treated for it. I've always been prone to depression since muddle school. I'm just kind of coping.
With my mother everything is so black and white. Her way 'is the way for all children'. I haven't even told her i bed share. She'd have a shat fit. I never intended on bed sharing, it just sort of happened. And when i tell her "oh dd cries until she's choking if someone else holds her" her response is "then let her, she'll get over it" WTF NO! ???
And i seriously tried to show SO the research and even after looking at it "i don't believe that" ? what's wrong with regular food!!!

Yea dd is so picky and I wish she'd eat more foods..also I've been having wicked bad jaw and mouth pain from my wisdom teeth needing to get pulled that I haven't been the most fun recently :/.

I know exactly how you feel!! Its so frustrating having to explain to my SO over and over again that there is nothing wrong with carrying a baby or that they can be carried "too much". Or when she cries he says I go right away to her and dont let her cry enough and that shes gonna be spoiled because of that, like wtf?
