Bedtime Routine
When trying to establish a bedtime routine for your new baby if they're still sleeping by the time you normally start the routine (7-7:30) do you wake them and do the routine, and hope they go back to sleep at their bedtime(8:00)? Or did you skip it for the night and let them keep sleeping until they wake for next feeding?

I never wake a sleeping baby.

My dd's bedtime is 7, we don't let her nap past 5 and we start her routine at 6:15
Her routine is
Bath (if it's bath night)
Lavender lotion and essential oil candle
Night time bottle
Sleep

@Rachael how do you keep your lo awake? Mine is 7 weeks old and she'll fall asleep regardless of what I'm doing with her. She sleeps really great at night but I just want an actual bedtime for her.

I dont wake DD. Shes almost 5 months. I attempt to do no naps starting passed 4. If I notice around 5 that she is starting to get extra tired we start our routine that moment.
There have been nights where shell fall asleep at 5 and be down for the night.
Our routine is normally 6-630 bath with me, playtime and feeds. The she is out by 7. 8 at the latest.

We do what Rachel and Capri do. We kind of have a routine all day - eat, activity, sleep.
If I see she's tired around 5 I'll let her cat nap for 15-20 minutes, but normally her brother makes so much noise she wakes.
We start our night time routine at 645 with either bath or lotion rub down, pjs, fresh diaper and then a bottle. I swaddle and put her down by 730-8 and she sleeps until 5 on weekdays due to work/ daycare and 7 on the weekends

At that age we really didn't have a schedule for her, we started this routine around 3 1/2 to 4 months. At 7 weeks they're still in their own little sleepy world lol
