I had a emergancy tonsillectomy and I started clotting ended up in the hospital for a month and a half. Anything that could go wrong did during my stay at the hospital. I then found out, my dad's family have multiple people with this genetic issue in my family after I was already admitted.
I have Factor V Leiden. I found out after losing my first at 18 weeks with a baby boy. I got pregnant after with my daughter and was on a low dose blood thinner and my OB prescribed me lovenox and my insurance wouldn't accept it, thankfully. I found out a week later that my blood was to thin and it could of resulted in a miscarriage had i taken the injections. I was induced at 37 weeks because my OB says it dangerous to go past that with factor V. My daughter is a year and half now. I'm now currently 18 weeks pregnant and taking the low dose asprinin, also will be induced at 37 weeks again. Have any of you been told the same about being induced at 37 weeks?
I do. I found out when I was 26. Had a stroke and lost partial vision in my left eye. However, I'm blessed to have only lost partial vision. My pregnancy with my first son was super with no problems! Now I'm on my second pregnancy- 26 weeks in!! I do have to take lovenox every night.
I do! I'm glad I found a forum finally! I found out 6yrs ago, had a DVT and PE same time. Found out I had Factor V. I got pregnant a year afterwards an was taken completely off my thinners, I lost the baby as well... I just recently had another DVT at the beginning of last year an told I'll be on them rest if my life, I'm 28 in 12days.
I just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant and got out strictly on shots. I can't see my OB until Wednesday to figure out a plan. I'm super nervous though. The coumdian clinic I was going to said I can stay on the shots the whole time and will be fine.. However when I got pregnant 5 years ago I was told that it would be impossible for both of us to make it... I'm hopefully this time being told the opposite but still extremely worried.
I'm glad too! First pregnancy having to do the shots, which I hate an always tried to talk my doctor out of when I had to do them temporary. On blood thinners for life now ? super happy to see so many moms that have gone through this an had healthy babies an safe deliveries, it takes away a little of my fear
Paranoid. I did some research on FVL cause its 5am and I can't sleep. It says that's there's an increased risk for miscarriage in the second and third trimesters! And an increased risk for the placenta to separate from the uterus! Oh my gosh I'm freaking out now! My first pregnancy I had a PE and that's when we discovered I had FVL. My last pregnancy went smooth! I'm so nervous now. I pray this is a girl cause I don't want to go thru this again FVL sucks!!
Before I found out I had FVL I had two health babies. My daughter was premature 36weeks 4lbs 4oz((she's now turning 10 in December)) it was due to the placenta separating. They didn't know the cause for it though, I've come to realize with research that it was due to having FVL. However she is a healthy little girl with no health issues. It wasn't tell after my son an years later from my Birth control, my kids are 2 yrs apart, that I got my DVT an PE at same time. I've read all that as well but at same time I've read plenty of moms an studies that show women go full term without a single issue arising. Your not alone in your fears but have hope, the odds are in our favor.
I'm factor V hetero! I've never had a clot, but my grandmother died of one. I've been on baby aspirin and I'm being induced this weekend at 38 weeks due to risks. I was lucky enough to know about the FVL since I was 18.
I have it-Hetero. I'm on lovenox until 35 weeks and then switch to heparin a few weeks before delivery. They have told me they will induce me early. They will be doing 2x week non stress tests at 32 weeks.

How did u find out you had FVL? this is my third pregnancy with FVL and with blood thinners.

I wasn't told that pp. I was induced at 39 weeks with my first because of FVL and a PE.
But with my second I went on my own, not induced, nine days before my due date
I'm now prego with my third. And go to the doctors in two days :)

Went to the doctors Wednesday and was started on lovanox shots once a day at 6w5d.
I forgot how much it burns after!
I'm glad we have each other during this tough time!
