SAHM or Work?

I quit my job during pregnancy for health reasons. And now I'm a sahm. But I'm bored. Haha I miss my independence and the money. (Not saying that I don't love my baby). I think the main thing for me is, now I want to help support my kid and with extra income we can have that 2nd car, buy a home, family vacations etc. I'm also kind of weary because there's nothing better than knowing your kid is taken care of because you're a sahm. I'm so torn! Haha! I hate adulting. I don't wanna adult today!!! ? But seriously, I need to help, advice. I need to make decision fast.

I wish but I don't think it'll work for me right now. It's hard for me with one right now. Mostly because I'm just exhausted from doing it all alone while my husband was away at work for a long time.

I'm a stay at home mom and I love it. I miss the second income. But I love having the chance to be the one taking care of her all day, all 4 of our kids. I get to be the one to raise them all day. My husband was home 3 weeks after macey was born and he went crazy after a few days. By 3 weeks he was about to pull out his hair.

Maybe give working a try knowing that if it doesn't work out you can go back to being a sahm. I would love to stay home but have a really good job i know i would regret giving up once my baby goes to school. I only have one though if i had more i would prob stay home, its been so nice

I work from home. Started in may & have made a couple thousand easily. I did have a small investment, but made it back in less than a day. I am on my 3rd child....a single mom & there's no way I would be able to afford daycare while I work....after paying for daycare, gas to & from work, I'd be paying to work....i am however making enough that I will be able to continue being a stay at home mom & I'll be starting back college in January after baby's born.

But like someone else said...give going back to work a try & if it's not for you, go back to staying at home. It's easier to go from working to stay at home mom than to go from stay at home mom to a good job.

I'm in the same position!! I was thinking of calling my boss today and asking for my job back but idk who will watch Mila. I don't trust my mother in law (she's a housewife and doesn't work) and the only other person that could watch her besides a day care is my brother in laws wife but she has an eight month old and is pregnant so I don't wanna stress her too much and when their next baby comes I will need to find someone else to watch her. ? I'm sick of adulting too. ?

I work four overnights a week so I am still home with my kids all day every day. They don't even know I'm gone... Unless my 3 year old doesn't go to bed on time, then he is up all night face timing me! I have gotten used to the little sleep which I know some people aren't able to get used to... But it works for us. I quit a higher paying job working less hours just because I prefer the schedule I have now.

My husband and I chose for me to stay home with the baby for a few reasons. At some point however I may have to get a part time job and work a few hours after he gets home from work. Maybe that could work for you...best of both worlds.

I am a SAHM as well as a WAHM and love that I am able to be home with my 4 month old and make money and help people live a healthier life style and become financially stable:)

I work full time always have always will. I'm staying bubba until she is 6 months then back to work I go just like I did with DD1. Then they will both go to nursery or my mums while I'm at work. I have a great job that I have worked hard to get where I am, also my eldest goes to school next year. I have the same views PP it's easier to work and give it up than give it up when then try and go back years later. I'm gonna only gonna be 48 when my youngest is 20 meaning I will still have another 17 years before I can retire what am I gonna do then???

Maybe bartend or waitress a couple nights a week or weekends when the father works so you don't need to pay for childcare.

I'm a SAHM now, too. I'm going to get into photography. I'll be able to make my own schedule which is great and it's something I've always enjoyed. You could always look into something similar. Something that allies you to have your own schedule. I have 2 years until my oldest starts school and another 3 after that until the youngest is in school. My husband is making good money now though. If I worked we wouldn't be able to afford daycare and I make too much money to qualify for assistance. I'm staying home and we're getting wic to help and I'm bf so that makes me feel like I'm contributing in a way b/c that's money we save elsewhere. Yeah, it would be nice to have all those extra things but I can wait a few years if I need to. I know that me not working right now is the best thing for my family.

I started staying at home around my 24th week of pregnancy. A lot of stuff happened with my husband's job situation, and we are having to claim bankruptcy, which is how I was able to quit work. Not that it is a good plan for anyone to follow, but we didn't have a choice. Now the only debt we have is house payment, we have older paid for cars, and we budget everything. But I love being home with the kids, and being the one to take care of Adah all day. I've never been comfortable leaving an infant at daycare.

That's what I'm thinking; try working and if it doesn't work out then no harm done. I just need to see if working will work for us before I say no without trying.

My husbands schedule is one of the biggest problem. He's in the military so his schedule is all over the place. He's actually not even home this week haha It's another reason why it's been so hard for me, doing so much alone. But I'm looking for solutions to help.

I thought about waitressing but I'm afraid of being even more exhausted to take of baby when I get off. And I don't think I'll make enough to cover day care.

I'm skeptical about leaving him with day care but if I'm comfortable with the place then we'll be fine.
