Some states you don't have to press charges. The state can press charges. It can take some time for the state to pick up those charges. I know from personal experiences that it can be a month or more for the person to get picked up and arrested without a warrant if you have ever called on a DV. It just depends on how fast the state/county moves.

Here we have a website for the county that the person was arrested in and you can look up why they were arrested. You might want to try that. Or call the sheriffs/police department that arrested him. They will be able to tell you.

@deejd most states will press charges themselves. It's to help the victims get away. Because sadly most victims of DV are brain washed into believing its theor fault or they deserve it. State picking up the charges has saved lives. If he hit you he should be in jail and letting him get away with him just gives him a chance to beat on you again or find a new victim.

@sheenese17 that is exactly what I'm trying to say & I checked on this vine app that the police officer gave me & his name wasn't even up there I called the police station they said he there but they not telling me the charges I guess I'll have to wait for his mother to find out but she probably won't even tell me

Even if he got arrested because of you reporting DV how is that your fault or your problem? He made that decision and if he has to pay for what he’s done that’s how it has to be. I’d be pissed if they were blaming me for his arrest like he made his own choices and has to live with them.

@cbelias060594 thank you so much & they automatically assumed he was the reason he got locked up but he did what he done & shouldn't have but they need to find out what was he doing at 2 am that got him arrested
