Baby things

So I feel like I'm already not doing something right. I'm 12w2d and I have bought absolutely nothing for the baby. Where do I start and what do I buy? My step mother whom I love to bits told me to wait until after the showers to buy stuff (I will more than likely have about 4 or 5 based on the friends and family groups I have...sheesh)
