Is gender and age that important?

To begin with i have a five year old son and a two year old daughter and when we go out people always tend to ask if their ours because were young parents, and I'm like yes they are, instead of stopping there and not saying anything they always say you shouldn't have any more two is enough or you can close shop already and I'm like what the hell, what do they care how many kids i have or what the gender is. People also think that just because i have a boy and a girl that i shouldn't have more because it wouldn't be even in gender. So if i had two boys or girls it would be okay to have another to get the other gender. I don't get it you can't satisfy anyone.
