Both doors closed, mine open. All bedrooms are upstairs and I can hear either child even over my fans. Besides my 4yr old rarely stays in his room anyways lol
All four bedroom doors closed
I leave it cracked a little, really bc if I close it I'll probably wake him up.. Plus then I don't have to worry about how much noise I make in the kitchen.. And I have a video monitor so I can see him
My older boys don't have doors, my daughter wants her door open and the youngest wants his closed.
@mackenzie
That's true. Closed doors can prevent flames from spreading. ?
A closed door can mean precious seconds that can be life or death in the event of a fire.
Her door stays open. It gets too cold in her room when the door is closed. My door stays open too. I have a cat but she doesn't bother us while we're sleeping.
I shut her door. She's 1.5 years old and I keep the video monitor on all night for when/if she wakes up. We have three cats plus my DF sounds like a big ol grizzly bear snoring in the middle of the night.
We keep the door open. My 3 year old dd gets scared if we close it.
I shut the door. We have a video monitor. We didn't used to shut our bedroom door, but we moved and now we do.
All doors stay open. Ss has asthma so we need to hear if he starts coughing/ wheezing in the night. I can't stand monitors. I always wake up even if the boys just talk in their sleep or roll over.
No. They door stays open and mine too
I do now that she can open her door by herself but I didn't when she couldn't.
We keep all the doors open. Our cats like to bed-hop, and our 3-year-old will still occasionally come to our bed in the middle of the night. I think door open vs closed is mostly a matter of personal preference.
I'm with the minority, we keep the doors open. The only door shut is my ds's, which he is 10.
Always closed for safety reasons
I like the doors open for air flow but I keep them closed to prevent the kids from wandering at night.
Also, isn't it better to sleep with the doors closed for fire safety reasons?
Yes, because we have a cat we don't want in there. He's naughty and gets into things and keeps her awake. We also are up later doing chores or watching tv and don't want to wake her up. But, we have a baby monitor in there so we can still hear everything.
I can't stand open doors lol
Door closed so the cats don't go in and the crying baby doesn't wake her up. But the way our house is built our doors are like a foot apart, beside each other.
Dd who is nine sometimes closes the door during the summer months to keep out bugs that might fly in and to keep her room chilly.
No we sleep with both our bedroom and her bedroom door open
I keep it open, it's easier to hear him through the door than to use our monitor. It makes loud beeping sounds for even the slightest noise, and that just doesn't work for me for sleep.
Door is always closed
We do or the cats wake him up
Yes, our bedrooms are upstairs. We have a monitor if he needs us.
Yes, we've always shut the door. We also have video monitors.
I leave the door open to there room and my own
Yes I do.
I will close the door, my son cries pretty loud, so I'll hear him. The only time I'll leave the door open is when he's asleep and I'm in the shower.
I do. Our rooms are really close so I can hear him even with the door closed.
We also crate the cat at night (nice big crate with everything he needs) We did even before the baby came just cause he's an a****** in general lol
Yes. When he was a baby we would leave it cracked but now that he's older we shut it. He actually prefers it shut. He sleeps best in total darkness.
I do.
I don't. We leave both doors open and have a baby monitor in both the bedroom and the kitchen (it's a small place). But I'm a FTM and realize I might be paranoid and over doing it but it helps me sleep better so I do it anyways lol

Lol okay just wondering. I feel so bad about it I don't know why! I had the gate up so I could leave the door open and he wouldn't be able to roam the house during the night. but he's figured out how to jump the gate.
Yeah...
I do. I have a cat so it makes me more comfortable
Do any of you leave your kids bedroom doors open when the sleep? Like a 2 year old?
😱😱😱😱😱 how am I sposed to shut the door when I leave work!!!!!
I HATE CATS! My husband has one and I despise him. We disagree on no boundary areas for him. Tonight our bedroom door messed up so we couldn't shut the door. I am sleeping in the baby's room because the door shuts. I refuse to sleep anywhere the cat can get to. Someone take him 😩🙅🏼
Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

I can't. Aliyn doesn't wake up yelling or crying. If I shut her door I wouldn't hear her. She quietly babbles and plays with her 'raffie'. If she thinks you haven't heard her in an acceptable time frame she will start singing though.
