EGGS

My baby's dr said we could give him scrambled eggs but to mix with milk instead of water. Did I hear that right? Milk not water. I'm just making sure because I read a lot of things about babies not being able to have cows milk until 1 year old.

I heard of people mixing milk in their eggs to make it more fluffy and stretch. I never preferred it personally and now I don’t even eat eggs anymore.

Cooking with cows milk is fine just not as a drink until 1. We do blw so the first thing i made him was an omelette. Using a little bit in cooking isnt very much compared to a cup of milk to drink

I make Caellum scrambled eggs but I don’t use milk or water. Milk won’t hurt though. Caellum has had cheese and yogurt & he’s fine.

Thanks ladies! I just wanted to be sure because she said milk instead of water. So I wanted to make sure I didn't hear it backwards.

Yes, if the cows milk is within food then they are allowed it, not allowed it as a drink on its own until 1.

I'm in the uk but we're told if we're making porridge, scrambled egg, pancakes etc.. to use whole fat milk ☺️

I’ve always made scrambled eggs mixed with milk. That’s how my mom taught me, I thought that was how it’s always done.

When I make scrambled eggs i don’t mix them with anything. Just eggs.

But Madeline has yogurt daily so milk isn’t an issue. And it’s not like you are giving your baby a glass of milk. The amount will be very small and cooked.

I would simply just go with whatever your preference of cooking is. Madeline is eating what we are eating, we aren’t adjusting her food at all.

I think that when it’s cooked it changes the composition of the milk. That said, you also shouldn’t give it to your baby if he/she has a cows milk protein intolerance, which is different than lactose. You could always use almond, rice, coconut or soy milk as a substitute, if you’ve already eliminated those as allergens. Personally, our allergist told us to leave eggs til last, so I haven’t tried it yet.

Babies shouldnt have cows milk in its own until 1. They can have it mixed into foods though (cooking or baking with milk products) , unless your baby is lactose intolerant.
