My youngest son weighed 6lbs 4oz at birth. He wore newborn size for about 3 weeks. I had 10 of each and just washed and rotated. My 3 older boys were 8lbs+ and went straight to 0-3 month clothes.

I say 10-12 outfits are enough but babies just need onsies tbh and bagginess isnt too bad

Ok so I have a son. And I had 3 sleepers, and about 4-6 complete outfits. They don't stay in newborn to long so I don't recommend buying to to much newborn. I always say get something bigger.

Okay thanks everyone! I've been buying mostly 0-3 and 3-6 just cause I know I'll need them. I've gotten a few new born things but I don't wanna get to many cause I didn't think he would be in them to long. I hear they grow fast lol.

It all depends on how big your baby will be at birth. My kids never got to wear newborns clothing. Why? 4 out of 5 were 8.6lbs to almost 10lbs , oly my second was 7 lbs and he wore a 0-3 months for like 2 months and they were all breast fed so breastfeeding babies tends to be chunkier.

I don't think my baby will be too big because I'm super small. I was barley 100 pounds when I got pregnant and my boyfriend isn't big either lol. We're just tall. So I don't see myself having a bigger baby but I have no idea if that has to do with anything or how that stuff works lol.

My daughter fit newborn til she was almost 3 months old and was born 7 lbs 11oz and she was 19 inches long. We actually has to go buy her newborn stuff because we had mostly 0 to 3 and she swam in it. I plan to buy a good bit of newborn and 0 to 3 month. I mostly buy newborn though in outfits like dresses things like that. sleepers and onsies etc are fine bigger but i like for her clothes to actually fit when we go out haha

I agree with pp around 8-10 or so sleepers. Then maybe just a couple outfits for pictures / outings. We went through several clothes changes a day due to diapers leaking (figured out later it was the petroleum jelly on the little guys circumcision causing the leaks!) And remember you can always send the hubby to the store for more, if in a bind! You got this momma ?

So true! I can always get more if needed. I just found out I'm having a boy about a week ago so I'm like obssessed with shopping right now lol!! Just don't wanna go over board on the wrong stuff. But I'll deff need a few things like you said, so far I really only have like 3 newborn sleepers, a few onesies and like 2 outfits! And you're right about having to change them multiple times a day, so I'll deff get a few some more. I was just starting I think about how fast he would outgrow them but like I mentioned im super small so I don't see him coming out huge lol

My daughter was born term at 6lbs 9 oz and was in newborn for about a month. I would recommend 7-10 sleepers and undershirts. This way you can get by 5-7 days without doing laundry. Depending how much your baby spits up basically. Unless your doc tells you baby is going to be 10+ lbs you will need some newborn.

My chubby babes couldn't squeeze into NB size. It was hilarious trying to get them dressed on the day o release. I've learned my lesson and will take 0-3 and NB to hospital ?

The brand is something to keep in mind too, my daughter fit into Circo and carters newborn for a month (6lbs 3 oz @ birth) but also 0-3 month Gerbers. I always size those way down!
