anyone else worried about weight gain?

anyone else worried about weight gain?

My doc told me at the start of seeing him 15-20 pounds this pregnancy. Its my 2nd pregnancy im 28 weeks and o gained 24 pounds already. When i saw him last he said no carbs no sodium. 5 pounds since ive seen him last, i just know i will get a lecture cuz we are trying to watch my blood pressure. I go to the gym everyday for 30-40 min. Tredmil and weights and just keeps gaining weight. Just getting depressed.:/ i know i need to watch what im eating more. im going to start fresh tomorow. But in the mean time i have one day until i see my ob. Anyone else going through this?

My midwife said 20 pounds because I am petite. I gained 5 pounds between 16-20 weeks and she said it was too much. From then on I watched. I did gain more than she wanted 22 pounds but I'm 10 days post baby and 3 pounds to my pregnancy weight. All my clothes fit. It's worth watching what you eat

Yea i agree what goes on must come off. Just stressful to have to think about constantly gaining weight. Especially cuz i go to the gym everyday and still gain weight.

Unless you were substantially overweight before your pregnancy, 15-20 pounds seems unrealistically low. And saying "no carbs" is harmful advice. You do need (healthy, whole grain) carbs during pregnancy for a healthy balanced diet. I suggest focusing more on diet and less on the gym. It is great to stay active but weight is 90% diet 10% exercise (at least for a non-pregnant person).

I used this calculator to see where my weight gain was supposed to be. http://www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html

I've realized it depends on your doctor because I gained a lot and not once did somebody tell me to watch my weight. I have a family history of diabetes, high cholesterol and all sorts of health problems. I went from 130-172 at the end of my pregnancy. My WIC doctor even told me to make sure I eat something every 2 hours because I worked a lot.. But my bfs niece is a pretty thin girl and she is definitely all baby.. but her docs are telling her the same thing as you. Mind you she also has a family history of health problems. I told her as long as your eating properly and drinking a lot of water and moving around I wouldn't listen to the doctors. It's crap that they try to make pregnant women feel overweight. Now if your one of the women who feel likes it's okay to eat junk because your "eating for two" then I get it. But your working out and everything as long as your eating to replace calories for your baby to get the nutrients they need then everything else is bull honestly.
