I would ? makes more sense to me but I hate toys all over my front room ?,and if he's okay with it I'd say go for it, my son has the kura mid sleeper from ikea, it's a really good bed and you can have it as a mid sleeper or you can flip it round and have it like a normal bed ? he only has a box room so this doubled his space he could play on the floor xx

I'd go for mid sleeper - avoid the metal ones if you can. Both my kids 7 and 11 have the high sleepers and I struggle to change them. Cost me a bomb and no way of hiding stuff. They were from dreams and really aren't worth the £700 I paid!

Regret getting rid of their mid sleepers.

Had a wooden Ikea one with slide ds was in that from 20 months - it has rails for when sleeping and the slide was brilliant instead of getting down a ladder when sleepy.

The argos ones had curtains underneath to hide the mess and DD used it as a den with her kitchen etc underneath. X

I've got very small bedrooms hers is 6ft wide and 8ft long she has a 2 ft bed and used to use a bed rail to stop her falling out and my 2 boys share a 4ft bed and a little plastic chest of drawers for their clothes that's all I can get in their,

I'm looking at getting the extendable bed out of ikea for my girl as she's only 6 and tiny and it's 2ft6 wide and can make it short to give her more room, have a look on the ikea website it's got some really good bits for bedrooms x

My eldest has an IKEA loft bed as she has a boxroom, and I put a cupboard, drawers and a sofa under it as space is not very big, hers is white metal but I believe you can also get it in gun metal grey in IKEA too xx

Have a look on very at the ladybird mid sleeper bed... they do it in pink or blue. My daughter has this and can fit in cube ikea boxes, comes with a desk (but I store toys under instead) and has 3 drawers at the end. They also do matching drawers. I'll post a pic x
