Get rid of her, if you don't wanna do it by phone then just txt her, it's not like she's made the effort with you so she doesn't deserve the phone call, just say 'hey, sorry but I've decided on a different maid of honour as I don't feel like we spend enough time together anymore' or something along those lines lol I wouldn't even be that nice if the cheeky batch still didn't turn up on my birthday, even after seeing SO, hell no, bye bye maid of honour lol X
It's so horrible when people do this. Unfortunately it happens all to often. I'd simply say to her, thanks but no thanks. Hope you get someone else more worthy than her.
I would personally ask if she is ok and if there is anything she needs just in case there is a reason for her behaviour. If she doesn't come up with anything decent just say how disappointed you are and how you are feeling your friendship isn't as strong as it used to be. There is no reason to be confrontational, you can do it all calmly without having an argument.
Drop her Hun, my maid of honour did the same, never heard from her or saw her unless I made the effort so I just stopped trying and messaged saying 'I'm sorry but I need someone I can rely on to help me on my important day' and haven't heard from her since and tbh I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. The advantage is seeing as I'm a bit of a control freak I was able to have control of pretty much everything ? plus it's one less dress and meal to pay for hehe xx
She's always been like it tbh so thought it would change seeing as she's supposed to be my best mate! I've given up making the effort just trying to find the right words! Xx
Big things like weddings and having babies certainly shows you who your real friends are! I've lost so many the last few years who I thought were close friends but clearly not. You should be able to relax and enjoy your day and not focus on her xx
Id just say that due to the wedding being only 10 months away you feel that it would be more appropriate to have someone who you are regularly in contact with as your maid of honor so you can organise and plan things together as thats what there role is xx
