A whole chicken put in upside down with any lemon, garlic, onion, herbs you have is fab. No water needed.

Since I've realised that a slow cooker kinda steams food, so any liquid or water injected meat or high water veg put in will still be there at the end, I've been able to adjust recipes or take the lid off for the last hr & it's much better xx

My kids love simple beans and sausages!

Put in the sausages and cover with baked beans. You can mix in BBQ or curry powder to add taste. I also add onions and it's lovely.

Sausage and chicken casserole work too.

As does curry. Make up as normal but don't cook anything - leave on high - check meat is cooked and quick easy meals. Use mine on work days! Even known lasagne in it! All added in raw but tastes just as good

Pulled pork is one of my favs at the moment, very easy to do:

*Pork shoulder (I cut it into smaller pieces as found the meats easier to shred)

*1-2 onions chopped

*2-4 cloves garlic chopped

*1 cup of chicken stock

*1 tablespoon dark brown sugar

*1 tablespoon mild chilli powder

*1/2 tablespoon salt

*1/2 tablespoon cumin powder

*1/2 tablespoon cinnamon powder

-Mix the dark brown sugar, chilli, salt, cumin and cinnamon together and rub it all into the meat.

-put the onion, garlic and stock into the slow cooker then place the meat on top, put lid on and cook on high for 5 hours, then to medium for 1/2 hours (depending on size of meat etc, this is timings for a small shoulder)

Once it's cooked, take out the meat and strain the liquid putting onions/garlic and meat back in the slow cooker, keep the liquid to one side incase you need to add any to make it more moist.

With a fork shred the meat, then add BBQ sauce (amount depends on how strong you want it so best to add a little at at time) and any extra liquid if needed - I never have tho to be honest, it's always ended up perfect!

Great for the summer served with new potatoes, salad and homemade coleslaw! Yum!

And any left overs great the next day in bread roll!

This is one of our favourite meals at the mo...

3-4 chicken breasts

1 jar of salsa (whichever flavour/brand you like)

1 can condensed chicken soup

1-2 packets of taco seasoning mix (we like it more spicy so we use 2)

Taco fixings (sour cream, lettuce, onion, cheese, etc..)

Mix the can of soup, jar of salsa, and taco seasoning packets together. Stick slow cooker on high and put a thin layer of the above mixture in the bottom. Put the whole chicken breasts in and cover them with the rest of the sauce. After 3-4 hours you will be able to shred the chicken with a couple of forks. After this I add a few large dollops of sour cream to make it a bit more creamy, think that really makes it. Serve in wraps or over rice etc ? xx
