My BP has been high my entire pregnancy. Each visit it’s gotten a little worse so the doctors been watching me closely for pre-e and they told me if I had any of the following symptoms to go to L&D right away:
Headache that doesn’t go away with Tylenol, dizzy, seeing spots/floaters etc/ any swelling.
I would listen to your friend and at least call L&D and see what they recommend. Can you check your blood pressure, or go to CVS/Walgreens etc and get it checked?
I’m being induced Tuesday at 37 weeks just for the fact of my BP numbers so it’s def not something to mess around with.
I had preeclampsia my first pregnancy and it started with a horrible headache and I went to L&D and my blood pressure was high. They induced me. I'm currently 37+3 and they have been watching me closely, I've done about 6 of the 24 hour urine tests and I constantly have headaches that never go away with Tylenol but every time I go to L&D , they monitor me and and my blood pressure is normal so they send me home.
I’ve been diagnosed with pre-e my blood pressure was normal my entire pregnancy and it just sky rocket at week 27 and it’s been super high since then I also have insane swelling. The headache part is tricky.. it shouldn’t feel like a regular headache, your headache sounds severe. I’ve always suffered from migraines so Tylenol doesn’t work regardless not even for a minor headache. If your headache is making you throw up or even nauseous definitely be concerned.
The floaters you are seeing are they only happening when you make a sudden movement or even when you are just sitting relaxed? I’ve been told by my doctors if it only happens when making sudden movements then it’s normal but if they are just happening out of no where then that’s a concern.
I’m being induced next Sunday due to preeclampsia at 37 weeks. Please call don’t wait it’s not worth the risk to you or baby
Same exact situation I had dimorris. I never get headaches and one day out of the blue I had a headache so bad I couldn’t even think straight. I had no other symptoms, no swelling, no nothing. I checked my bp and it was around 140/92 (it was good the whole time until then). I took Tylenol and told my ob at my next appt about it. They drew PIH labs and the results were normal but borderline. I went back the next week and they drew more blood and my bp was a little higher. They scheduled me an appt two days later and decided to do the c section that day 11/17 due to mild pre eclampsia. I hope you don’t have it, because my bp is still high AND they put me on bp meds. Sighhh. Good luck to you girl
Thank you, ladies! I’m definitely going to mention it at my appt this afternoon, as I woke up this morning and the headache is still lingering. My c-section is scheduled for the 12th, so I only have 8 days left until she’ll be here. I’m just hoping it’s nothing serious.
Ah! Sorry ladies, I must have lost the post! Well, my BP was super high the first time they took it. But no protein in my urine, and no weird swelling. My headache finally lingered off Thursday mid-day. Only took a whole week! The second time they took my BP that day, it went down a bit. Not a huge amount, but enough for my OB to say I didn’t need to go have tests ran, thank goodness. C-section is already scheduled for Tuesday morning, so regardless she’ll be here soon! Hoping that the aches and pains subside and I can finally start healing and enjoying my little bundle when she arrives.(:
