So here's my quandary. My 2yo has a severely stuffed nose. It makes it hard for her to eat and extremely hard to sleep (she's a finger sucker. Of course this may break the habit lol). We have a humidifier in their room and I've been trying saline and suction (both of which she fights tooth and nail). The question is, is there a decongestant safe for 2yo? I know the children's one used to be considered safe but is no longer. But this kid is miserable. I can't get in to the doctor for a least a week ? which is a separate issue. Anyone have any other suggestions?

DS is 2 years old and my Dr approved Mucinex for kids (the bottle says 4 years old). I would not give it until speaking to a nurse/Dr to get the correct dosage for their weight/height. Do you have a 24 hour nurses line you can call?

I also run the hot shower and close all the doors and windows in the morning to clear him out. I feel as if it helps in addition to using the humidifier at night. (It does waste water but hey I don't like my baby congested).

Tried asking the nurse but got told "we don't give medical advice out over the phone". I wish there were a different pediatric office in our town.

Medication is not recommended for children that young. Unfortunately she's just going to have to solider through it.

Yeah I'm afraid so. It just sucks to see her so miserable and have nothing more to offer for her. ?

We make our bathroom into a steamy hot sauna and suction, we also give Zarbees mucous reducer. Other than that I don't think anything is meant for a child that young. I hope your LO feels better soon!
