Ugh i don't know what to do!

Are there any changes happening now? Is he attention seeking for some reason? I know that my 4 yo son has been mostly night trained for about 2 months but last week he wet the bed every night. Come to find out he was sickening with a virus. Once that went it's back to normal. Even though they are trained there will be times they test the waters.

That is strange...does he go to daycare or a babysitter?

I've read many times children who reverse potty train have endured some kind of abuse whether is be physical or verbal.

But hopefully it's another reason but that's the only thing I have heard of when potty trained children start having constant accidents on themselves.

@fatmum some children just aren't ready to night train at the same time as day training and it is completely normal for children to not be night trained up to 6 or 7. I know my son day trained in 3 days when he was 2 1/2 but didn't night train until 2 months ago when he was almost 4 1/2. He just slept too deeply to wake up to use the toilet. They have to develop a level of a hormone to be able to wake themselves and there's nothing you can do as an adult to short cut this. My son just refused to put a pull up on anymore so he knew he was ready.

He sleeps to deeply still for night training. He's had no major changes, and no big upsets. I'm a sahm and he's never been at a baby sitters. It's so weird. I could understand if any of those things had been going on, but I'm at a loss. I'm hoping it's just a rough couple days.

just stop the diapers all together and make sure he pottys before bed

Stop putting him in diapers. It's probably confusing him.

With the peeing I though "maybe a uti?" But he doesn't have any symptoms and that wouldn't explain the pooing. And the kicker is, when he's had accidents before it's been the "I didn't quite make it to the toilet type" and he's tell me and clean up. But he just peed his pants and didn't say anything. Didn't even change himself (which he's always done before). I'm just baffled.

@jakesmommy and lilith if he's not ready that won't work. I know, I tried it and ended up changing my sons bed clothes every night, sometimes twice a night for two weeks before I decided that enough was enough and started using pull-ups at night.

Hmm op. how long has it been going on? Maybe don't make too much of a fuss about accidents and give big praise for using the potty and he'll go back to doing it.

It's just been a couple days but it's throwing me. Lol.

Has he been around anybody in diapers? Dd is 15 months younger than her cousin but was potty trained for 6 months the before she was. Everytime she would hang out with her she would start having accidents. My dd is still only day trained but she's 2.5 so I'm not worried at all about night training

Don't listen to PP's. It is absolutely normal for your son to be in diapers at night! My sons pediatrician advised me that it's considered "normal" for some children sleep too soundly to be awoken by their need to urinate all the way up to 8 years old. My son is four also. And he still sleeps in pull ups, but is perfectly potty trained during the day. My sons pediatrician even told me not to "waste my time" trying to night train him. He said when he outgrows the super heavy sleeping it'll sort itself out. He's not going to end up a 30 year old sleeping in pull ups ?

Anyway, the day time issues suddenly cropping up out of nowhere is super odd if there has been no life changes or outside influences ? and I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you ? But I didn't want you to get to feeling down on yourself for the night time diaper thing. Have you talked to his ped?

Has there been any changes at home? Pregnancy? New baby? Moving, etc......it's normal for kids to regress with mayor changes my son was potty trained and regressed when I started babysitting my niece and it's totally normal for him to wear diapers at night my son does he's 3 and he wakes up dry 95% of the time as long as make him pee before bed when he wakes up he tells me he has to pee even though he's wearing a diaper everyone I've known gives it time before they night time potty train

No moving. He has a little sister who, at 18 months, is obviously still in diapers. My kids are the youngest in the family, so no cousins or anything with diapers. I can't think of anything that's triggering a regression. I haven't talk to his doc yet as its only been a couple days. If it's still a problem Monday, I'll take him in.

And thanks pp. I have no qualms with him being a heavy sleeper/wetter still lol. I won't worry unless it was going on around 7.

Has he shown any signs of jealousy towards daughter? My son didn't get jealous and started seeking attention until my second was 15 months

I recommend that you talk to him and just tell him that pee doesn't go in the underwear and he needs to tell you he needs to potty and just take him to the restroom frequently until he starts telling you again and offer rewards tell him if his dry for a set amount of days you'll buy him something he likes or take him to the park, pool or somewhere he likes to go
