Sonohistogram.
So due to my recent loss, (I've had four if you were unaware), I need to go in to have a sonihistogram. Basically they put a tube up and blow my uterus like a water balloon and use a sonogram to look for growths or polyps that could be causing my losses. I'm pretty darn nervous. Has anyone ever done this? How did it go? Was it very painful? It's a fully awake procedure and not pain relief I'm told. Just would like to know if anyone's ever gone through one and can tell me how it went for them. ?

I can't help you there but have they tested you for blood clotting disorders or the mthfr gene mutation?

Yes we've done all the possible blood work. It's down to this or genetic testing. We decided to do this first because there's really nothing to be done if it's genetic problems. Hopefully this will find something that can then be fixed.

Ok. Yeah I planned on taking tylenol before, but good to know. I'm hoping I handle it well. Just waiting for my cycle to start so o can schedule it. I hope they find an answer for me.

Stella did they find anything for you, and if so how was the removal procedure?

It's super easy!! It only felt like I was having a contraction for a minute or so during the procedure. It's really not that bad and it should be super quick!

They didn't find any uterine abnormalities but said that one tube was blocked. Then all of a sudden the doc said the second tube was blocked too. I really doubted him because, if that was the case, how was it possible that I kept getting pregnant. After looking into it further, I read that sometimes the procedure itself can cause the tubes to clamp down. I also seem to remember reading that procedure can help you get pregnant too and I did get pregnant that month , "blocked tubes" and all. Unfortunately, I had another miscarriage.

Oh so sorry. I don't have a problem conceiving, but in losing the pregnancies.

I had a close friend who had one. Perhaps she has a low pain tolerance, but she was in a significant amount of pain for 2-3 days. Definitely take some Tylenol or ibuprofen before you go.

My sister had this a few times and says it's very painful . They offered her Valium the last time. She does have a lot of scar tissue and blocked tubes which may make it more painful .

K thanks gals. I'm waiting for my cycle to start and kinda freaking out a bit because I'm late. I. 10 years of marriage I've never had contraception fail me and now really wouldn't be the time. ? I'm hoping it's just crazy hormones from the loss and not what it might be.
