Must be nice
Must be nice to be able to check out whenever you get upset, or tired, or stressed. Don't feel like being a husband/father right now? That's ok just go lock yourself in you room or play your games. Just leave me here to deal with an upset 3yo who just got shots and a 4mo whose teething and hungry but mommy's so stressed and angry broth you the milk won't come. Yup just go spend the only few hours they get with you "getting ready for bed" because we all know that takes a couple hours and not a couple minutes.

Pound on the door and make him take one of the kids.

Hide the bread. That'll teach him.
I didn't even read the bread post ? just thought that fit nicely there.

I'm not gonna lie, this was so my husband but the more kids we have the better he gets. In fact, they now like him better than me. ?.
Force him to take the 3 yo. Bond with the baby. Oh and fenyugreek is a life saver.
If you don't tell him you need help and that you're drowning, he'll never stand up. I've found that tears work well. My husband hates to see me cry.
The first 6 mths with 2 kids was really tough on me... On us but we overcame and everything balanced out. It's a crazy life. And really, men don't get what it's like to be a mom but he needs to be a dad. Good luck.

I don't dare knock down the door because I just might knock his teeth in too right now. He didn't even bother to tell the kids good night and I'm beyond fuming. I'm gonna have to cool down before I do anything.

Ohh this was my dh last night, comes home from work at 6:30 just as i was serving up dinner. We all sit at the table to eat, the kids started arguing dd 2 decides she wanted my dd 7's dinner plate instead, so shes having a tantrum about it. Well dh ignores it gets up and takes his dinner in the lounge to eat so he doesn't have to deal with the kids. Finishes his food goes has a shower and goes straight to bed!!! Here i am trying to get the girls ready for bed tidy up after dinner all while dd 2 right tears through the house like a hurricane. Then dh has the nerve to call out to me to tell me to make the kids shh! Haha bad idea dh, i went in the room tore him a new one and well he ended up getting back out of bed and at least sat in the lounge still didnt help me any though :/

Whenever this happens and I get fed up I just take my son straight to my DH, regardless of what he's doing, and tell him I'm going out for a while before even letting him speak or ask questions. At that point I don't care what they do as long as I know DH is watching our son. I go for a breather and don't come back for a few hours.

I think we might be married to the same person.

He is not as patient as I'd like with DS. Maybe he just needs to be alone with both kids more often. I wasn't thinking very clearly. I'm a little drained and stressed from a long weekend at grandmas (we all are especially the kids) this was just more than I can handle right now and not turn homicidal on my husband.

My husband fell asleep last night at five because he wasn't "feeling well". He slept ALL night long; while I was up all night nursing the baby. Then he worked late tonight, got home at seven and reminded me that he is leaving TOMORROW for a FIVE night motorcycle trip. Sooooo he says he can't help with the kids tonight, because he has to pack. WHERE IS MY DAMN TRIP?!?
deleted-user·
My so does the same thing. His excuse is that he's the one that works and I just sit on my butt all day so I can't possibly be tired.?

I'm the primary caregiver to our kids because my husband works out of town. When he's home and has to do something he says bye and walks out the door. When I want to do something I have to get everyone ready and load them into the car. If I want to go alone I have to ask my husband to watch the kids. It's frustrating, I know how you feel ?
deleted-user·
Ugh...your ladies' husbands sound like mine! I'm glad I'm not alone.
Ps I sometimes just want to punch my dh in the face.

Me and a friend have decided we are going to sneak off in the morning before our men wake up, and leave the kids, and no car, and have a girls day.. Let them see how it feels to be us every day.. Not really, but we like talking about it..
deleted-user·
That'd be the day.
I'm glad mine doesn't act this way and he isn't even the father of the kids. Ours isn't due till December.
If you don't stick up for yourself now it'll never end.
