Just take every precaution you can. Keep hand sanitizer on you. Drink plenty of fluids. And get plenty of rest (easier said then done while pregnant lol).

I have stopped getting them and my kids aren't getting them either. I have been cleaning with bleach and lysol. Other than school, I have been trying to keep my kids away from large crowds. I have sent hand sanitizer to school to help as well.

The kids and I all got the flu shot and we're all sick. Dh DIDN'T get it and he's healthy as ever. WTF.

My friend from Nebraska just posted on FB that she got her shot in September and she AND her 2 year old have it currently. :/

Even on a good year the flu shot only has an at best 60% efficacy rate, and that's only for certain age groups (the elderly & under 2 have much lower rates).

Best thing is to eat clean, avoid large crowds, wash your hands often (20+ seconds with warm water & mild soap), use natural immunity boosters, you can use a cool must humidifier (dry air actually attributes to viruses living longer on objects), and if you do get sick there are natural regimes that are effective at helping the body overcome infection.

I just spoke with my DH about this too. We all get the flu mist he is required because he is a physician in the hospital. The main strain they are seeing is fluA which is covered in the flu shot but the secondary strain of fluA is not so 60% of the cases they are seeing are the secondary strain of fluA. If you baby is very young I would take them out if possible. I had DH watch my son after work so I could go to the store and not have to take him. Otherwise wash hand, car seats, blankets and all that stuff often and use Lysol spray religiously. The flu can be very hard on young children.

I refuse to give my child or myself that garbage. I'll do vaccinations but that's it. No flu shot. You can catch it regardless. My daughter has had it once and we took her straight and got her tested. She was better within 2 days.

Not any new news. It's a guess every year and doesn't guarantee you won't get the flu.

The hospital I work at requires anyone being seen for the flu to wear a mask at all times.

I got a flu shot due to pregnancy, they will not allow me to treat patients that have flu symptoms. I love my hospital, I love how strick and prepared we are.

He doesn't most of the time because he doesn't come in direct contact with most of the patients. I have never heard that though do I will have to ask him. He gets it because he hates needles and the mist covers 4 strains not 3 like the shot administered at his office. I got the mist last year before my son was old enough to get it and no one warned us about it then and he was there when we got it.
