Failed 3-hour, diagnosed
Hi, ladies- so I'm officially a member of the GD group. Like most of us, I was extremely upset and emotional earlier- even though I know logically that it's not necessarily my fault.

Normally u can just monitor it by diet, if u keep track of ur numbers and they notice they're consistently high then they'll try Meds

I would think that since your numbers weren't ridiculously high, you would be able to just manage with diet and exercise. At least at first. Mine were way higher than that and I'm managing with just diet and exercise. The only problem I have is fasting and it's still under for the most part.

Mine were
Fasting: 93
1hr:206
2hr:209
3hr:180
So far I have been dieting for 3 weeks and have completely controlled it through diet and exercise. We did change a few things around in my diet like the times I'm eating dinner and late night snack so that my morning fasting number is better. So I think your numbers will be fine. Just stick to the diet (as much as it does get hard saying no to your favorite foods...I miss twix ice cream bars the most) and be honest with your doctor when you go out to eat and your guessing on the amount you can have and end up with a high number. Counting carbs is very new for most of us and if they know your trying it's better than letting them think you purposely ignored the diet.

As far as going out to eat, most restaurants have a nutritional menu that will show you how many carbs are in everything. If I know before hand where we are going, I look it up online and plan.

I failed so bad that I Didn't even take the 3 hour and I am diet controlled. :-)

I too failed horribly that I didn't need the 3 hour. I'm scheduled to see the diabetic educator today. This whole ordeal has me terrified

I only failed by 2 points so I have to walk 30 mins a day and watch my diet and retest in a month.

@blkbttrfly - How did your meeting with the diabetic educator go? I'm going in tomorrow.
@tmow - Sorry to hear you failed, too. 2 points is even more frustrating!
But for both of you, ladies- try not to stress or be too upset. I was devastated but I've looked at all the perfectly safe and natural births I can find on this board, and it's helped put my mind at ease. I've also been reminding myself- I've been really healthy so far and don't have much more to go before the baby arrives! (EDD: 11/15)

I also failed the two hr! I have a meeting set up with the counselor on the 25. Until then I am sticking my finger and dieting. I have had this with my other two pregnancies.
