learning alot?
I've been an emotional wreck since Friday because of this whole jaundice thing that my son has but I'm still in the hospital and I'm trying to be in good spirits and remain positive even though it's really hard to see him get a needle every 6 to 12 hours he's so used to it that he's not even crying anymore and it breaks my heart to see him like this. The type of jaundice that he has is about blood abnormality my blood type in his blood type doesn't mesh well together I'm an O+ and he's a B+ n my blood type is giving his red blood cells antibodies and he's trying to fight them off and it's not working very well. This bilirubin that's in his blood is coming out through his pee and poop which since I'm bottle-feeding he is pooping and peeing wonderfully but I'm still concerned because his bilirubin level started at a 14 drop down to attend 10.7 from all of the light therapy that he was having which is great then it shoots back up to 14 today so I'm just going to keep praying and not let all these negative thoughts interfere with my prayers. Just keep me and my son and you guys are thoughts and prayers please. Tia

I believe that our kids are going through the same thing. Im also o+ and his levels shot up from a 9 to 15 and was admitted for light therapy. After 24 hours he went down to an 8 and we got to go home but had to go to Dr office to test every 2 days and his levels went back up to 14. He is now just over 2 weeks old and the levels are finally coming down on their own. I've talked w many nurses and one had to go through the same and she said it took her son over 2 weeks to get lower levels so its just a matter of time. Keep strong momma I know how hard it is to see them go through this.

I went through this as well. My daughters number would go down the shoot back up. It was frustrating. Heel pokes all the time :( I was so depressed. Finally after two weeks of the light she was fine. It takes time but it's very common. Praying for you momma

I’m sorry I hope he gets better. I’m really hoping my little one doesn’t do that. I’m O+ also and she was boarder line in the hospital at a 12 and brought her to the doctors and she was at 14 so they got us a billy bed for at home and we are trying it now. She gets retested tomorrow and I’m praying the levels go down. She hates the bed and all I want to do it pick her up. I’ve been so emotional from all her crying.

Update: they discharged us late last night and we got retested this morning and we just got the results that it shot up from a 14.8 to 16.3 ??????? so they told us itll most likely go up again tomorrow and then it should start to taper off.... im so tired of them pricking my baby too. He doesnt cry at all when they prick him or when he goes under the light he mostly just sleeps eats and pees n poops. Im praying for better number tomorrow.... i have to get him checked rest of this week and then get a weight check thursday becasue he lost 2 more ozs.

Praying for you guys. I know it's hard to see him go through all of this, but it'll be worry it when he's finally at the right level. And he will never remember all of this. It's going to be okay, momma.
