Ok so i never just straight off the bat ff my kids but this time i don't wanna breastfeed at all. I'm looking for ways to stop breast from producing milk while in the hospital and if ur allowed to bring your own formula to the hospital? But maybe that varies depending on where u are. Breastfeeding can just become so much for me with 2 other lo's and i know all the benefits and everything but after getting mastitis 3 times with my ds....ill pass on bf this go round.

Take some Sudafed to the hospital with you, the good stuff from behind the counter, start it right after you deliver. Obviously tell your nurses but it shouldn't interact with any of the typical after birth meds you get. Dried me up in a couple days.

My breast milk never came in so I don’t have any ideas on how to stop it but you can bring your own formula to the hospital if you want. I just use the hospitals though because they drink so little those couple days your there.

Antihistimines and cabbage leaves. Sports bras.
And bring your own bottles and formula in case your hospital likes to forcefully shove breastfeeding down your throat. That way you can be in control. Start with a gentle instead of newborn too. My son did horrible with the standard newborn formula. Gentle was way better.

I wore a regular bra and a sports bra, nice and tight. Took a few days, but I didn't have to use cabbage or anything else.

Why do you want to bring your own formula? What kind do you plan on using?

Stuff the cabbage leaves in your bra. It's supposed to ease the pain of engorgement. I used them when i quit breastfeeding. I put mine in the fridge first then into my bra. Felt amazing.

Most hospitals provide you with the Enfamil Newborn pre made bottles. I saw on another post you said you want to use the Enfamil Gentlease though. Can I ask why you want to give that to the baby if it isn’t needed?

Gentlelease was a good formula thay my 2yo dd used and i wanted to stick with that rather than breastfeeding. I think my hospital doesnt offer enfamil just similac

I just left my boobs alone and the milk dried up in like a week. Nothing ever came out they were just really hard and kinda hurt for a week. The hospital provided me with formula and gave me a few days worth for when I went home

The nurses and my dr also told me not to let the hot water touch your chest while in the shower... that will help too

I would just start with regular newborn formula and only use gentlease if baby has a problem with the newborn kind. I thought the same thing. With my first DD she could take the newborn kind. With my second she had to be on the gentle ease. With my third he couldn’t take the newborn or gentle ease. We tried both and then Nutramigen and now were on Alimentum. What works for one won’t necessarily work for another.

An old home remedy that I used to dry up my milk is rubbing castor oil all across the top of my back down to the middle. Like where your breasts are in front, rub it in that area in your back. It worked for me in just a few days.
