baby shower for moms of over 2 kids
My family thinks that I shouldn't have a baby shower because this is my 5th pregnancy so they feel that I should have everything with my youngest two I only had one baby shower and that was for my two-year-old I didn't have a baby shower for my son because I just wasn't feeling up to it I was feeling down and I just didn't have enough energy or care enough to have a baby shower but I really do want to have one this time what I'm having a girl or boy which I don't know yet what do you guys think should I have a baby shower because I have two girls and one boy already or should I not have a baby shower

If you want a baby shower you should have a baby shower! The shower isn’t for your family it’s for you and your baby!

Maybe have a celebration for the baby? People that want to bring a gift can and people that just want to celebrate bub with you can do that too. I am on my third child and we waited 10 years between our youngest and this bub so have to buy everything new again but we will just have a celebration. We don’t want people to feel they have to give us something. Will be blessed if they do and perfectly happy if they don’t. We have already bought nearly everything anyway ? Just want to share the excitement with our loved ones :)

Have a shower! And Don't invite the people that say you shouldn't have one. Even if you have the big items, you still need diapers/wipes/formula/bottles....It's a celebration of the baby and I think every baby should have one.

I've also grown up with the notion that the baby shower is for the first time around...so anything past is taboo, unless someone else is throwing it on your behalf. Maybe that's what your family is feeling too. Or maybe you should let them be the ones to host it for you?
It's just a social rule is all, even if it is old, some people still hold it to be true.
This is my second kid and instead of a shower I'm doing a small gender reveal with just family. If they decide to bring a gift, that is up to them, but ideally I know my family likes to spoil my kids throughout the year so a gift is not necessary. That's the way I see it.
Also, while it's nice to get things ahead of time, you may find that you're looking for other stuff when baby gets here. I returned or exchanged a bunch of stuff from my first shower and used the credits toward getting items I actually needed - not an abundance of onesies ?
Just thought you'd like to hear an alternative or suggestions. But it's your prerogative at the end of the day!

I think any reason to get together and eat cake shouldn't be avoided but??♀️
