Speech
Logan's 18 months and dosent say a single word! He says mama and dada VERY rarely and just sort of grunts and makes baby noises all the time should I be worried? Lexi at that age had such a good vocabulary.. x
My son could only say mama and dada at 18 months and didn't say anything else until he started nursery then when he turned 2 and started nursery he started coming out with single worlds and a few months later sentences followed some of it sounded clear and some of it didn't, he's now 3 and can say a lot of words and sentences some very clear and some not clear! We saw a healthvisitor who now wants to assess his speech to see if he need speech therapy, but I feel like his speech is coming on amazingly now and so does the nursery it's just a lazy boy thing I wouldn't be concerned at all at 18 months.Xx
My son has always been a 'talker' lol but he is an only child (only for another 2 months ?) He was saying quite a bit at 18 months but used to get really frustrated if we didn't understand him so kinda had to speak more. Could it be because he has older sibling? They can get a bit lazy if they got siblings to say or do things for them. I really wouldn't worry at 18months tho, my sons speech really picked up around 2 x
Thanks girls I feel so reassured now my mum said my brothers took longer to talk than I did so just gonna put it down to boys being lazy? xx
Maybe it's a boy thing... bear says mama rarely and he's just learnt to say NO! He says daddy(well diddii) quite alot but calls everyone it lol his first proper proper word is NO! Tho... probably from me say no dont hit your brother or when his aunties and Nanny say no Wilson(dog) when he barks lol x
Ella is 18 months aswell and doesn't say much. She says Mam dad, Hiya and Kenzie (her brother) c
