It will be an ultrasound. I had retained placenta with my first and after they scanned me i was booked in for d&c the next day x

When i had it it was an ultrasound and surgery the next day to remove it. Hope you feel better soon x

Dilation and curettage is a really simple and quick procedure, I was under a general anaesthetic and taken down to theatre where they basically scrape out the retained product. Only takes about 15 minutes and isn't painful at all. I promise it's nothing to worry about ?

I had mine done the same day as I had a second pph. Really quick and no pains also meant less bleeding afterwards

They may also give you antibiotics xx

I had this recently at 4 weeks pp. did write a post about it. it was an internal scan, it was uncomfortable when he was doing it but I was in theatre within a couple of hours as I'd been in hospital from the night before and wasn't allowed to eat or drink plus I was hold it was large and needed to come out. I was also pumped with antibiotics and then given some to take for a week. Bleeding stopped. Felt great for a couple of days then exhausted for about a week then felt back to myself. I really was ill for a month but just thought it was before I had a new baby and was bf. Good luck xx
