Pumping Before Baby Comes
Is that weird ?? I'm 34wks and lately I've been thinking about pumping and freezing the milk until baby gets here. I don't want to formula feed at all. What do you ladies think ? Should I wait and let my son stimulate my breast or should I get a head start before he gets here? FTM so not sure what I'm doing here lol I'm just so nervous of not having enough milk for him and having to resort to formula feeding as well as breast feeding .

U shouldn't the baby needs the clear/yellow fluid that come out the Breast when first feeding.

If you were to pump now, all you would get is colostrum. Also, the pumping can hurt your supply if there is not a baby latching as well.
It's best to wait until after baby arrives to begin pumping. Give a few days for baby to get the colostrum before you begin pumping, then pump after each feeding if possible.
Also make sure you see the hospital's lactation consultant before you get discharged. Ask her for any tips on increasing supply.

I was told that since i'm leaking lots to collect it and freeze it but definitely no pumping :)

I've heard your milk won't come in until after your placenta is no longer connected. That's what gives your body the go ahead to produce. I'm not 100% sure as I'm no doctor but I am 100% sure that pumping leads to contractions :))

The stuff you have now isn't milk for bub so you wouldn't really get a lot and it wouldn't do much for baby. Also nipple stimulation and pumping can set off early labour so I wouldn't personally.

You can actually start pumping from 35/36 weeks look it up on the Internet and it's doesn't send you into labour straight away and your baby will still get the goodness of the colostrum it will just be mixed up with the milk
