Special K protein cereal has been pretty good for me. I can't do milk so I'll either use almond milk or almond milk mixed with sugar free vanilla pudding. I add on some almonds and it's really good! If it's too hard in the morning you can try it later in the day. I'll also put it on yogurt instead.

I miss cereal too! I'm to afraid to try a cereal they all seem to high in carbs for me for the portion, because I can imaging only 1/2 c of cereal!

I miss my morning cereal too, I have it for dinner every now and then. I tried it in the morning once and my levels were super high, it doesn't do that at night tho.

I have no issues with eating 3/4 cup of raisin brand crunch with almond milk in the am. I have it with eggs and turkey bacon.

So I did some talking with a practitioner in my doctors office whose specialty is nutrition. The key is balancing everything you take in.
On mornings that my blood sugar is good, I can eat 2 cups multi grain Cheerios with 1 cup half and half. The key is the half and half. The extra fat mitigates the damage of the carbs. The doc said its not fat that makes us fat it's sugar. Good fat, mind you.
Anyway, it's worked for me. Might be worth a shot. I find that if I up fiber, fat, and protein with a meal that has given me trouble in the past it often processes better.
