Breast-feeding in public with nipple shields

Does anyone have any advice on how to breast-feed in public with nipple shields? I was at lunch today and really needed to breast-feed but I couldn't figure out a good way to do it without just showing my boobs to everyone in the restaurant! Ha ha! I always where T-shirts with regular sports bras because I am now a stay at home mom so I just breast-feed on the couch with my shirt up ha ha but I can't really do that in the middle of a restaurant LOL so what are your tips or tricks?

I used the layer technique. A shirt over a tank top allows easy access to the boob and shows very little skin as the top shirt covers the rest. You could possibly put the nipple shield on before you leave the house and put some plastic wrap on it so it won't be covered in clothes fuzz.

Same here! It's so awkward. I never thought that I would care but when you're actually in the situation it's a lot harder than I thought it would be.

I've been nursing for over 2 years now :) I do the double shirt since I hate nursing covers and so did my first baby. Too much hassle. I wear a nursing tank top with a tshirt over. As for the nipple shield, just prep it under your shirt (people will look at you weird for digging around in your shirt but oh well lol) and then just nurse like normal. It takes awhile to get use to no matter how you do it, the more you go out and do it though the easier it'll get. ??

I definitely want to nurse in public but still be discreet ? I'll try some of these things you guys mentioned!

My first time feeding him in public with the nipple shield i put on the cover and put it on and then he latched but then i got up to go and he unlatched pulling the nipple shield off with him and it falls on the floor in front of everyone at the doctors office lol. I was so embarrassed! Now I'm scared to do it again but im super modest also

Wear a tabl top underneath another shirt so you can pull up the shirt on top and pull down the shirt underneath and cover up most of your breast with the top shirt

Ugh, I really wish I could breastfeed without the shield. What I do is that I put the cover on first (I usually wear a poncho as a cover) and then I prep with the shield underneath it and I let baby latch. Probably looks a bit weird, but what else to do ?

Lol yessss I'm so worried that the shield will fall off in front of everyone. Especially since as y'all know, it fills with milk sometimes and if that were to fall off with a bunch of milk in it that would suck!

He pulls it off so much. I really wish I didn't have to wear it too but I like it at the same time. My boobs constantly produce and leak so without the shield (sometimes on my right side I don't have to use it) milk drips from my breast onto my clothes lol. ??
