I would dress baby down to a diaper for feedings... sleepy eaters need to be chilly... could just be cluster feeding too... but worth a shot. Good luck.
Agreee with PP. Feedings in diapers only will keep them up better. And don't flick feet... just rub under the chin/jaw line usually helps promote them to suck.
The first couple of weeks this is super normal. They are so used to being inside your body... they want to feel you... hear your heart beat... and listen to the rhythm of your breathing. I slept with my daughter in a recliner. I propped my arms up on both sides and didn't move all night. She was right between my boobs (ha) and in a diaper only (born in Jan and we would wake up sweaty! Skin to skin time is no joke). I was topless and we shared a light baby blanket that I would tuck under her armpits/torso and down. She also didn't like to be put down until we got a MamaRoo swing (saved us). Only used it at night. She then slept in that for a few months and then we transferred her to the co sleeper... then to her crib. ? it does get easier mama! You are both adjusting to everything! You'll soon find something that works perfectly for you both!
I would consider a rock n play to let him sleep in. Some babies don't like to lay completely flat and like to feel snuggled. My son loved his rock n play all the way up until he started rolling then we moved to crib. I plan to use the rock n play with my daughter too when we get home from the hospital. Hope you find some relief so you can get your rest mama.
My little man was like that I'd change his nappy with a wipe that I wet a little and he would cry and kick and totally wake up lol
He has moments that he is a rat bag at night he likes my boob on his lips but does better early morning from about 3am to 10 am will sleep 3 to 4 hours so I'm working at correcting that now because he will stay awake an hour or more at a time in the day after 10am to 12pm
Sounds about right. I don't agree with co-sleeping but after this exact senario sometimes I just pull him onto the couch with me. I put him on the inside of the couch and I don't move not an inch until I wake up so sore needing to move. Then I put baby back into the pack and play and within the hour he is back with me on the couch. If I don't do this I'm up every 30min- hr and being a mom of now 4 I need some sleep or I take it out on all my kids during the day
Does baby always poop after a feed? If not them try changing first, it should wake them, feed, then lay down. Also is baby being tightly swaddled? That makes all the difference! I would try to swaddle after a change and then feed so you can lay them right down but if they won't stay awake then swaddle after they eat. I love the Velcro swaddles when they are newborns, mine sleep so well in them.
I had him sleeping in a rock n play but his head would randomly tip foreword and restrict his breathing so he only naps in that during the day when I can watch him closely. Maybe he just hates his bassinet ? but goodness I need him to like it lol
You can try keeping him awake a little before you actually go to bed like giving a bath and rubbing some warm oil on his tummy
Then feed burp sleep
Remember bubs is adjusting to life outside the womb so not all recommendations will work and maybe the only way for sleep is the " bad" one of him sleeping on you ...
My babe's sleep on me or near me i dont care I can fix it all later when they are older I love them as snuggle buddies and embrace it
But I don't have to worry about having them on schedule as long as I can get a little sleep then baby can do whatever

We tried white noise and it didn't phase him ☹️. I feel like we've tried everything. The only thing that works is him sleeping on me.
