C-Section
Well it looks pretty official that baby Roman will be coming by c section April 12 after finding out that he is still breech and amniotic fluid is too low for him to flip himself and the docs won't try a manual external flip.

Start taking a stool softener before hand, it'll make passing your first bm way easier. Take the pain meds on a schedule, it's easier to manage the pain than to try skipping doses & get in such pain that the meds don't fully relieve it. Walk as soon as you are able, you'll start feeling better once you do. Don't overdo anything, if something is uncomfortable your body is telling you that it's too much. Firmly hold a pillow over your incision anytime you have to cough, sneeze or laugh

I had to send my dh out to buy granny panties because all my underwear sat right at the incision site! Bring very loose pants or nightgown tops for the hospital- I had brought sweats but they weren't loose enough and I ended up sitting in their gown for 3 days.. lol
If you plan on breastfeeding, don't be surprised if your milk takes a little longer to come in! Mine came in on day 4 but I've read it can take even longer than that!
Take it easy afterwards. You will need help. My husband took some vacation time which helped immensely. If he hadn't been able to, I would have needed someone else there to assist. Your body will definitely let you know if you've overdone it. No lifting anything heavier than your baby afterwards until you're cleared to lift more. No driving either!
That's all I can think of at the moment! What the pp said is all important too! Especially the stool softener! My dr. didn't tell me to use it- the pain meds can make you constipated and they also had me on iron pills because my blood levels were low.. bm's were horrendous until I started taking a stool softener

Chedges- I know it isn't what you wanted, but you and baby Roman will do just fine! One of my older posts asks for c section recovery experience if you want to take a look. I did grab an abdominal binder from work as a just in case and would love to send it to you, if you'd like.

I second all of the previous posts as well. My best advice would be to keep your diet light few days before in addition to the stool
softeners and after the c section for a few days of your hospital does not do this to keep a soft liquid diet (like jello soup etc) since it will take a while for everything to start up again digestively. High underwear as someone else mentioned, loose dresses, maybe a maxipad on your incision area to keep it dry if you have any moisture etc. Roll out of bed slowly on the side with a pillow in your incision site and also the squeezy bottles with WARM water to clean your lady parts as you will be bleeding lochia after even though you had a c section. Rest when you can and take pain meds while in the hospital. Do not lift or drive or do anything crazy. Get some help first few weeks and get all the rest you can to heal!!! You don't want any post surgery complications or hernias because you are over doing it! Listen to your body and most importantly after all this...congrats and enjoy your baby!!! Also because it is not the easiest surgery to recover from (delivery is somewhat of a breeze) of you ever feel down or sad for whatever reason do not be afraid to seek help. (I know many people do not talk about this but it is a reality and part for some of the birthing experience!)
Wish you all the best as you get ready to meet the little one...I'm scheduled for my second c section late April. You can do it mama and it will be worth it when you see that little precious face looking back at you!!! Good luck!

I forgot to mention emotions afterwards!! Mine was due to a failed induction (low fluid levels) none of the induction meds worked so after 2 days in the hospital we had the section. I was very depressed for awhile and felt like my body was broken.. that it couldn't do what it's meant for.. those feelings if you get them are normal (or any other feelings you get) but make sure you talk to someone if you're feeling down. I think I was borderline ppd afterwards and should have talked to my dr. but felt like I needed to be super mom and that I could just do it all on my own.. I know better now- so I know that if I go through that again with this birth- I'll definitely be talking to my doctor about it.
Best of luck to you! You got this mama!
