I went into the doctor this week and they told me that I was measuring small (turned out low amniotic fluid) and that Romans belly is measuring about 4 weeks too small and because of that it might be an issue with the placenta. They had me do an NST (non stress test) for an hour and a half last night and I was having contractions 2-3 minutes apart. But not very strong ones (just Braxton's I believe) so either they're going to take him out by C-section at 38 weeks or the let me labor naturally by being induced if the placenta starts to do it's job correctly and if the amniotic levels rise back up.

I just learned today I have to do the stress test as well because I have gestation diabetes. I will have to go twice a week.

Turtledip- I'm not sure how. Everything was really smooth up until this week.
She measured my fundal height and found it to be too small so that's why they did the ultrasound and that's when they found the issue.

Same thing is happening with me. I'm 23 and this is now my second high risk pregnancy. I had pre eclampsia with my first.
I went in for my 34 week appointment and measured 31 weeks, so I was sent to the hospital for an NST and ultrasound. Ultrasound showed my little man was measuring 2 weeks behind. So at 34 weeks he was only measuring about 4 pounds. They diagnosed me with IUGR. They are watching him with two NST's a week, one biophysical profile and one ultrasound a week.
Baby will be ok! They are watching you carefully. Just make sure you ask a lot of questions. I was even sent to see a perinatologist. It helped me understand what was going on, and now I have multiple sets of doctors behind me and my little baby.

I have been measuring on track up until yesterday at my 34 week check. Measured 31 weeks. So I'm getting an ultrasound today to check in. It's my 3rd and I have always measured bigger with my first 2 babies. These April babies are sure stubborn!

Do they suspect iugr? I was diagnosed early since she measured small since my anatomy scan but I'm a part of a fb iugr group and many women weren't diagnosed until later since everything appeared ok on their anatomy scan. It was the fundal height or in some cases the lack of weight gain that precipitated an ultrasound where they found out about iugr. Btw I've read for low amniotic fluid coconut water is really good. Anyway I know this is scary but it sounds like your docs are on top of it even though having a million doctors appointments is annoying. Hang in there.

They hadn't mentioned IUGR but I will ask them on Monday when I go back for monitoring.
Both times I got monitored they said everything was great with baby and he was looking great. So now hopefully we will have more answers on Monday!!

I'm in a similar situation. At the anatomy scan baby was measuring like he should and then they did another scan this week due to preeclampsia and they said he was 25% too small (whatever that means) but that I'm petite and therefore the baby should be small? So confused. Is he too small or not?! ?
