Essential Oils
Thinking ahead here, but do you know if most hospitals will let you diffuse essential oils in the delivery room? I'm delivering at more of a clinic so supposedly the delivery rooms are more like hotel looking rooms, but I love to diffuse oils to help me sleep and relax me - I'm just curious if they'd allow me to diffuse while I deliver.

Hey! That sounds like a great idea for relaxation. I was already planning on listening to relaxing music in my room. Essential oils ?
Never thought of that. ?

As far as I know hospitals won't but birth centers will depends where u are.
You can always keep it on a piece of cloth and smell it if they refuse.
What oils are you thinking of using

Hospitals will not, generally.

I have heard from many people that it's actually better to just use the oils on a cloth and smell it. You never know when one oil might not be so appealing anymore. And if it's diffused, it's not as easy to make the smell go away.

They usually don't let you diffuse. It isn't good for a newborn or it could bother other guests there. I definitely suggest an inhaler or the good old put some in a hanky lol

I wouldn't want to diffuse in the room where my newborn will be because you don't know how they will react to it at all, God forbid they are deathly allergic to something like lavender and their throat closes up immediately after birth.

My hospital allowed anything other then an open flame.

I diffused oils All through my last labor and for my friend's labor when I was a doula for her. Both were in a hospital ?
