Well my dd is 17 days old and this is the second cold sore I have got since her birth. The first was right after leaving the hospital and the second now. Iv never got them this close together , I usually only get one or two a year. There also not on my lip where they usually present themselves there a little bit away from it which is weird. (Iv cleared the blister and cleaned with alcohol and proxide as soon as I seen it)

Can you ask your dr for a prescription for valtrex? I get that for my cold sores and the moment I feel one coming on I take one pill and it clears it up before it starts showing.

Is probably your hormones and the stress of the new baby bringing on the cold sores. Abreva sells these medicated patches that you can put over the blister. I would also ask your doctor about anti retro viral medications. I don't know if they are sage for nursing, so that would be a great question for them.

Just don't kiss her as you said and once the sore has healed you can give lots of kisses.
Your going thru lots of hormonal changes and stress and lack of sleep etc so don't be surprised if you have more outbreaks maybe talk to your dr and see if you can get a prescription for cold sore meds they are amazing and make the cold sore heal super fast or sometimes not even show up!

I agree with pp get Valtrex. My husband gets fever blisters and shingles. As soon as he feels them come up he takes one and they ate gone before they really start.

Whenever I get one I use those clear cold sore patches when I am home with my baby it puts my mind at ease since it is covered and don't have to worry about spreading it accidentally. I am very very careful I wash my hands way more than usual and always put some type of medicine on it. But try those patches they work wonders! And some have medicine in the patch

That happened to me when my son was born as well. I finally got valtrex from my doctor to break the cycle. Just follow standard precautions and you should be fine.

When my dd was born, my DH got massive amounts of cold sores. Like you, he normally rarely gets them but maybe once a year. But after she came home, the stress caused from the lack of sleep triggered near constant outbreaks. He even would get multiple ones at a time during this period. It was very weird. But stress does that. His doctor prescribed him Valtrex, which works on cold sores as an antiviral, to take at the first sign of a sore starting. It would make it go away before it even finished forming.
I understand the stress from the cold sores completely, though, because I was literally a mess, mentally and psychologically, during this period, fearing the worst. Even more so, DH would apologize and beg forgiveness that he forgot about his sore and kissed her on the forehead (when she was like 2-3 months old). She never got it. She's now 3 1/2 years old and has never had a sign of it.
If your breastfeeding or pumping, your milk will have antibodies to the HSV that will help strengthen your LO's immune system against it. That can help ease your mind.
