Barb raised him like her son for his whole life because jenelle was such a loser, but barb did tell her that she could get him back once she got her shlt together which she has ***** ( kind of )***** plus it's her son which would kill me if I couldn't get him back.
But barb was his mother for his whole life so idk. Pretty damn hard to decide with
But... I personally feel if she wanted him back THAT bad, she shouldn't have had any more kids. She should have solely focused on the child she didn't have custody of.
I feel like he's better off with barb. That's all he's known. I agree with PP saying that she should have waited to have kids and solely focused on getting custody of jace back.
I saw that she gets every weekend and holidays and summer.
If getting her son back was her main priority she wouldn't have moved away. If she was closer she probably would have gotten one to two weekday visits after school. But what do you expect when you move away? That there going to take him out of his school and put him in a new one? She shouldn't have went and had two more kids and focused on getting jace. If her and David break up she can't handle the kids. He does so much for the kids and baby's jenelle. That's the only reason she is a better mom and isn't losing her s*** . Jace should stay with barb.
And I think when barb said she would only have temporary custody until she gets her s*** together she was talking maybe a year or so. I think she meant for jenelle to sober up and go to school and get a job and have her life together. Not 7-8 years later when she's finally decided she's done with the party scene.
If it wasn't for MTV jenelle would probably have nothing. Homeless or living in an apartment with a bunch of her junkie friends. MTV is the only reason she kind of has her s*** together.
I think barb is to attached to jace. When she took him she was already raising him. Now she's making excuses on why Janelle shouldn't have him. Barb think she's his mother. Barb said janelle needed to get off drugs. Done. Go to school. Done. Have a house. Done. Now it's find a man I approve of. Shes never had control of Janelle and uses jace to get/keep control. She knows that if she didn't have jace Janelle would never talk to her again. But barb can't let it go. I like Janelle, she's come a long way and deserves her child. There are people who get their kids taken from cps for drugs that get them back while still using. It's because she's on t.v. she gets such a bad rap.
I never get into this type of stuff and don't even have cable...but from what I remember and felt about Barb is that imo she is never going to give Jace up. Truthfully I think even if Janelle does get her life together Barb will still not let Jace go without a fight....and don't get me wrong she definitely deserves the best credit for stepping up and raising her grandchild but in her mind Jace is literally hers and she's not going to give him up..period.
I think its all bs!! I understand jenelle doesn't have the beat record but I mean come on worse parents have their kids!! Barb needs to back off! Jenelle seems to be in a decent position in her life to have him back ...
I'm with @KN I don't think Barb intended on keeping Jace this long or raising him as her own. I believe she truly thought she was helping and Janell would get her s*** together. But instead Janell got worse and worse, drugs, jail, and boyfriend after boyfriend. I don't think Barb anticipated any of that and the fact that she lived her life like that for years I understand why she's still leery of Janells stability. Also SHE raised Jace to just hand him over full time would obviously be hard just like with any other parent Barb for all intents and purposes is his mother and should be able to stay in his life. I could see Janell keeping him away out of spite and I would really feel for Barb.
What I don't understand is why she doesn't try to take her other kids? I understand why she would want to keep Jace. But if Janelle is such a bad mom, then why are you letting her raise your two that grandkids? It kind of makes her reasoning invalid.
I like jenelle but realistically she isn't the best parent. Remember when her and David took that trip to New York to see that doctor because she was always in so much pain? She was in bed all the time and David was looking after kaiser. Then she goes and gets pregnant. Like what?!? You were in so much pain but now you want to get pregnant.
Her top priority in life has always been there have a boyfriend.
