So through both miscarriages I was informed "nothing in the vagina while bleeding". Okay, I get it. Nothing was stated after that. So bleeding stopped from mc #2. Husband came home from travel, so we has sex. Bleeding had stopped. Well when I get to the bathroom, I had a significant amount of bleeding happening. I call the ob this morning. The nurse was SHOCKED I had had sex. That I HAD to wait 2 weeks to have sex. And after that, I had to use protection until my period came again. Wth...why didn't anyone say that last time? Or hell...this time?

Having sex probably triggered what was remaining in your uterus to come down. It happens at the end of my period when I think it's safe. I don't recall being told to not have sex for two weeks. We were cleared once bleeding stopped. We were advised to use some form of protection because my doctor didn't want me getting pregnant until I had three cycles.

They should have given you specific instructions.
Sort of related: after my first baby, I had sex at 6 weeks after I was cleared. I bled bright red for 2 days. The nurse told me that the placenta site was still healing and can bleed if disrupted early.
I wonder if your bleeding is similar? Your uterus wasn't healed yet?

To add insult to injury, still have a faint line on a blue dye even though my levels were 15 last Friday before bleeding started.

I was always told to treat them like a period as well. If the Dr. wanted you to abstain, they definitely should've mentioned it. I'm sorry you're going through this. ?

Doesn't sound like the nurse was very sensitive about the situation ? I was told that once bleeding stopped sex was fine, and that you're more fertile after a miscarriage so it was good to try as soon as possible. I think it's a matter of each doctors opinion rather than hard and fast rules.

I was always told pelvic rest until the bleeding stopped. After that there's no need to do anything special. I do know some doctors say to wait until after your first af to conceive again, but all three of my doctors have told me there's not research to suggest that's necessary. And bleeding can start up again but do get checked out in case you restrained something. Hugs newly.
