???
Today was the first day I didn't breast feed my son. I could seriously cry! I can't believe we're done. I didn't think I'd feel so emotional! I almost cried when I put him to bed. He went down like a light. Didn't even phase him! Why do they have to grow up???

I can relate. I haven't breastfed for about 9 or 10 days now. On about the 3rd day i had a breakdown cos i was so sad it was over.

Today was my 5th day and 4th night since I stopped bf. I have been so proud of my little man for not making a hassle. I kind of missed snuggling him so I offered it to him this morning but I'm still done.

Awwww mama, I know it's hard. You've been a strong one today though, good job'

Omg how have yall stopped ?? My son will be 2 in august and I'm pregnant again and his doctor told me I need to stop befor the new baby comes in December I need yalls advice . Bc when I try to stop him he gets mad yells ; cries ; throws a complete fit !

Why do you need to stop before baby comes? Lots of women tandem nurse.

Idk my sons doctor told me it's best if I do she said I probably will have a hard time producing enough milk ! And on top of that I only wanna bf the next baby for the first few days

My DD stopped nursing at 14 months and I seriously almost had a breakdown. Some days I thought I was so ready to be done nursing and then when she didn't want to nurse anymore it was like it hurt my feelings lol.

I hate when doctors spread their ignorance around. There's no reason why you wouldn't produce enough milk for 2 if you are already successfully breastfeeding one.

Just curious why you bf one of your children for almost 2 years, but only want to bf your other for a few days?

@OP and other pps. It must be so hard to stop!! I can't imagine!

OP, how old is your son?

We were not bf anymore since like 6 months ( he is almost 9 months now) so i was exclusively pumping. my supply went down significantly and its getting to be overwhelming. And im ready to be done but stilll sooo sad. I wanted to go to year or longer with bf but deff cant do it with pumping.

It's been almost 3 months since my lo self weaned and it's still hard on me! I know he didn't want to self wean but since I'm pregnant the milk changed to colostrum. I still have to snuggle him to sleep every night and he takes his sippy with water.

Aedins mommy, my son is 2 years and 8 months old so I kind of felt okay with letting him off the boob. With being pregnant it feels like razor blades when he latched on and everytime I would cry out in pain so I think he felt bad and stopping wasn't really much of a problem. He still asks for it and I just say "sorry baby but it hurts too much and you're a big boy now". He loves it when I call him a big boy. I would have been happy if he didn't want to stop, I wouldn't force him to. If you don't feel ready then don't stop. I waited until I felt like we were both ready. Makes the transition easier for everyone. Good luck ?

I do snuggle him to sleep at night and give him his fav blankie and his bunny so he doesn't feel like I'm just ditching him. He's also slept through most nights since we stopped breastfeeding which is nice ?

Мама сына (1 год)
My son is 18 mo. We did mother led weaning were I would drop 1 feeding at a time. Some were harder on him than others. I would just find other ways to comfort him and if he asked for milk he got his sippy. Now he asks for milk by going to the fridge. Makes me sad

Sorry I just seen these comments ,
Bc I didn't want to bf my son this long he just simply refused to stop bf . Everytime I try to stop . And the next baby I will not make the mistake to bf this long I hate it . It stresses me out . I understand that some ppl love bf their children and feel it's best to do so till they wanna stop but I feel It's not best for me or my kids . My son has not left my side and he is almost 2 years old I need a brake . And when I go to have my other child what is he gonna do when I'm away from him for 2 days and can not feed him ??? He's not been away from me or my milk I feel it is in my and my sons best interest to stop and I do not wish to bf this baby for more then 2 or 3 weeks bc I do not wish to feel like I gave to continue to do so . I already spoke to my obgyn and my children's doctor and they said it's normal alot of first time mom's do this .
