my doctor said it was a circulation thing since the uterus is getting bigger & putting pressure on nerves & arteries?

Also cuts oxygen from going to baby.

Cuts circulation to one of the major arteries. I was told I can lay on my back but to move to the side when it gets uncomfortable...& it WILL get uncomfortable (painful) before any damage is done to you or baby.

I lay on my back all the times. It seems to be the most comfortable to me. I really hope I'm not hurting Anything though:(

My ob said your body will tell you to change positions before anything remotely could go wrong. You'd have to lay on your back consistently for hours for something to go wrong.

When it is not comfy to do so anymore there is no right or wrong. If it is comfy do it if not you body is telling you something

Ur body will let u know when enough is enough. U get really uncomfortable when baby starts cutting off circulation. With my girls (I have 3) I couldnt sleep on my back after 4 months or so without feeling like I couldn't breathe and was about to pass out. With my boys (this is my second) I have been able to lay on my back longer. With my older son I slept on my back until about 7 months. With this one I'm 23+4 and I'm still sleeping on my back AND on my belly. It may have to do with what you are sleeping on too. My bed is a serta perfect sleeper and is super soft so there is way more give when I'm on my belly and my butt sinks in way more when I'm on my back so I'm not completely flat.

There is new research that shows that although left side is optimal, laying on the back is ok as long as you're comfortable. You will know when it's not ok. Your heart will beat faster and there is a wrong feeling that I can't describe. Sometimes I have no problem with it. Other times it bothers me. When it does, I turn.

I lay on my back a lot also. I find it more comfortable that way. I never hears that it did any type of harm and this is my third kid ?

There is nothing wrong with laying on your right side or on your back. It does put pressure on a major blood supplier to the baby, however, your body will change positions naturally way long before it can cause any kind of damage. No worries, sleep how you are comfy!! ?

If your trying to just take some

pressure off your sides it won't hurt to lay like that for a little while, you just don't want to do it for long periods, if you do put a pillow an prop yourself up a little bit, sometimes I lay on my back and just lightly tilt my bump to the side to take some pressure off my hips from sleep on sides all night, your body's very instinctual, if your lying on your back and blood circulation is getting cut off you or your baby you'll become extremely uncomfortable an feel the need to move!
