third trimester tests
Have you guys had any type of NST or biophysical profile tests? I'm wondering since I'm high risk why my dr hasn't ordered any of these tests for me. I'm 34 weeks and just read I should be having the biophysical profile test either Every week or twice a week during the third trimester. Could it be the type of insurance I Have too??

I've only had the foetal heart test when something has happened, like when I fell over the edge of the bath onto my belly a few days ago.

I have a weekly nst due to high blood pressure, a history of pre-eclampsia and a stillbirth.

I have NSTs once a week because I’m high risk due to Gestational Diabetes and my placenta can age prematurely. Are you high risk? If not, it is likely that you won’t get any extra test - which is a good thing!

I have nst once a week and biophysical test twice a week because I’m high risk and also because of my previous stillbirth.

I'm high risk bc of my history with premature birth. My first daughter was born at 33 weeks. Im currently34 weeks so I'm one week further than last time. But I would think since I lost my mucous plug last week and with me being high risk, they would take more precautions. But they treat me like I'm a regular patient. No extra monitoring, no extra tests. Just in and out

Yikes! I would definitely bypass them and just go to L&D if you feel anything like labor coming on. Although, to play devil’s advocate, my OB office does not stop labor after 34 weeks so they may just believe you are far enough along that if you were in labor, they wouldn’t do anything. Still, it irresponsible for that not to be a plan they discuss with you. I’m sorry mama! Hope baby hangs tight longer!

Thank you art teach. Sometimes it feels like I have to pull teeth with them to get information. Last appt I had a list of questions and I guess the dr was tired of my questions so she basically ended our appt by getting up and walking out. They're really horrible. I can't wait until I give birth so I can be done with them.

I'm also high risk. I have had hypertension for years, which is why I'm in that category. I started getting the NST done twice weekly at 31+6. Baby girl didn't like the NST monitors so almost every NST ended in a BPP. My doctor changed me to BPP instead of NST. I now get the BPP once per week. I'm 35 weeks today.

Lol @texxie I was washing my two year old's hair in our shower bath, holding her up. She kicked the wall, I overbalanced, and we both went crashing down over the edge of the bath. I landed right on my belly. I was pretty terrified so I called my ob, dropped dd off at daycare and went in. He made sure there was a heartbeat and the placenta wasn't ruptured, then I went to hospital and spent the rest of the day hooked up to a foetal heart and movement monitor. Everything's fine, to the point where when people say "oh no, is the baby okay?" I say "yeah, baby is fine, I'm the one who's all banged up and bruised!" I hope you're doing well, hon ?
