contractions?? I know this is a dumb, and most asked question, but what does a contraction feel…

a contraction would radiate around your back and belly it would be all over your belly not just your lower abdomen. it would come and go every few minutes and last anywhere from like 30 to 60 seconds i believe if they are real they will progress and wont go away when getting up and moving around.

You will know the difference that's for sure there painful as all heck

Most women feel cramping pains in the back belly. Many feel the tightness near the top portion of the belly. I also had bh during my first pregnancy and I was told as long as they can't be predicted and don't last more than a minute it's usually BH. if the time between em keeps shortening and becomes more frequent and more pain it's most likely labor. That's the best bet cuz everyone feels labor differently.

For example I didn't know I was in labor, I just felt uncomfortable and the need to clean lol

Thank you ladies!!! I haven't had any pain since those initial ones. They just made me nervous bc I'm trying not to go into preterm labor again!!!

I felt contractions only in my back and never in my belly. If I touched the belly it was really hard but I didn't feel any pain there. I went without meds and all contractions were only in my back. So I think it is different for everyone.

But I had tons of contractions 2 weeks before labour for a few hours every day and I often had this sensation that I have to go to the bathroom and then couldn't go. Tell your doctor at your next visit, maybe they can see if your cervix is opening.

Thank you. I have to schedule another anatomy scan so hopefully they'll be able to tell me if my cervix is opened or not

My first pregnancy I never felt any contractions until I was in transition from 8-10 cm. I only felt tight squeezing, never pain, so I thought they were all Braxton Hicks. I was dilated to 5cm at my check up 4 days before my due date. Doctor was shocked. But when I felt my first contraction I knew from the first one it was the real deal, started timing and they were every two minutes and never let up. What I felt was more painful/cramping in my vaginal area, not a period cramp or back pain. It is so different for everyone I think but you’ll know.
