What are some pros and cons of finding out your baby's gender early? I didn't find out with my first until she was born and I loved it. Drove everyone else crazy tho lol. But this time is a little different as money is low, no car so I can't go out and look for stuff. Just trying to see if it was easier for you guys to find out the gender beforehand

I've never not found out the gender early so I don't see any cons in doing so. Pros for me were:
•Preparation: I am a planner and I wanted to pick out more boy gender items (toys, clothes, nursery, etc) ahead of time. I'd be stressed if I didn't.
•Name: I know you could always pick two names of each gender you like but I felt more connected to my baby when I had a name to call him from early on. I loved having everyone refer to him as his given name as well.
•Since I knew I was having a boy, the circumcision debate is handled well ahead of time so we're not second guessing at the hospital.

Finding out the gender early really helped us decide on a name. We couldn't pick both a girls name and boys name. Once we knew we were having a girl we were able to envision our child and what we would call her. It also helped with planning because I have a friend that gave me all her baby girl clothes so I barely had to buy anything.
This time around we're definitely going to find out again. I'm almost 12 weeks and we don't have a single name picked out. It'll definitely help to know the gender.

have done both. I see no cons to not finding out you just go neutral on the basics and have boy and girl names picked out and the surprise of finding out as your baby is handed to you is a amazing. Finding out let's you buy everything either girl or boy designed but that's not a necessity to me

Thanks ladies. From your experiences, it seems (only to me) that there really isn't a difference with waiting than with finding out early. All of your responses are super valid but everything you said, I've done right after I had my daughter. My coworker gave me TONS of girl clothes, I bought gender neutral stuff and just added girly stuff in when she was born. Only thing about me finding out after baby is born is I don't have a way to get around to stores after baby comes. And it'll be easier to buy along the way. I think I'm leaning towards finding out tho. Thank you!!
