I was successful, shaking but I did it. Hubby enjoyed a little giggle at my expense, but I did it. I won’t be doing anymore until he’s gone. But thank you ladies. Here’s to trying to grow a baby ?

I just started my estrogen shots and I can't deal, I did my first and not doing anymore... I've enlisted in nurse friends to help me

Girl , I understand 100%. I do not want to give my self shots either . Not sure how I'd handle it , but like pp said if there is no one else you may have to put the big girl pants on ??. I'm sure you'll get it figured out

I felt the same, my hubby is a shift worker so i had to suck it up and do it myself too! However, my method was so much less painful than his! I wouldn't let him do it after that ?

I had to do my own for 2 weeks while hubby was away. Not easy, but doable. Good luck!

Before he leave tell him to guide you on how to inject yourself. I survived with numbing cream before injecting myself.

You can do it!! It’s scary but practice once while DH is still Home. You got this!!!

Where in NJ? I’m in Chatham - I’m a medical student if you are close enough we could meet and I can give them to you. I go to school in the city too.

I had to give myself a few. I am a nurse so I give shots to other people all of the time so it should have been no big deal. I was nervous as all get out to do it; after I did, it was no big deal.

Girllll I’m with you when it comes to shots! My husband does all mine and I can’t torture myself like that. I’d do it when he’s there and make sure he’s on the phone with you when he’s away. This was a good reminder for me to learn how to do it myself in case my husband is away or working late.... big girl pants, breathe and pray lol

Before doing the shots myself, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of women giving themselves PIO shots, it helped me see good techniques.

I also recommend trying to give them to yourself. I did when DH wasn’t around and it was easier than I thought. I would lean the side I was giving the needle on against the bathroom counter, using the hand on that same side to put the needle in and hold it, while reaching around my back with the other and using that to inject the progesterone. I’d start with laying all of my supplies out and within reach beforehand, so I’d keep the needle in until I had the alcohol swab ready for when I remove the needle with the hand supporting it.

It probably sounds more complex that it really was. It worked well for me. Until I was confident with my non-dominant hand, I did all injections on one side, then evened our with the same number on the next side when DH came back.

Being able to do it on your own is very freeing.

Try doing it yourself before he leaves. It really is easier than you think. You are so strong, you can do it!

Thanks ladies I will call my Dr tomorrow and an urgent care/cvs. I mostly concerned with the weekday shots. I can go to my cousin for the weekend shots, but she lives 40 kind in the opposite direction of my job.

Maybe call an urgent care facility or cvs minute clinic to see if there’s a nurse that can do it? Or a good friend?

Will the drs office do it for you?
