He should only be having formula. He's about the age where you can introduce solids now. I always starts with the yellows (carrots, squash, sweet potatoes) then greens (peas, greens beens, etc. ) and fruits last. (Apples, bananas, pears, peaches ) instead of juice, try baby food, a much healthier option other than juice.
He is too cute!!! My boys (even the 3.5 year old!) always play with my hair like that lol!
On to the unasked for advice lol! I made a big mistake with my oldest not alternating in veggies often enough and it resulted in him being very very picky and having to sneak veggies into him for the longest time and it was such a pain in the ass! If I didn't sneak them in it was a fight that usually resulted in him screaming and me wearing quite a bit of what I was trying to feed him.
Unfortunately a lot of pediatricians give outdated advice. It never hurts to do some research.
Also, is this seat on a couch? That's really not safe, hun, as your lo could accidentally tip himself. I unfortunately speak from first hand experience as I made this mistake myself when I was a first time mom. Thankfully I was right next to my lo and caught her when she managed to rock forward. ??
It's just I'm a new mom and I listen to his doctor for everything...
My lo is 13.5 months and I have never given him any juice except for 2 sips of mine (which is half water). I wouldn't give juice unless it's recommended for treating constipation.
You might consider starting some veggies. Some believe the lo can form a preference for sweets if that's what they are fed to start with (just fruit).
Good luck.
Leo's father and my dad said it was okay also.... but I followed your advice and have been giving him more formula. My friend tried telling me juice was okay when he was four months old but I never did it until Friday.. I'm sorry ladies.
I'm glad your doing great !! And we are so happy to have you back but you know how helpful we are and only want the best for babies ! But apple juice and water all day is not good at all. He should be having his formula and having some food and some sips of dilated juice and very very little water
I would talk with your pediatrician about his food and drink routine just to be sure he's getting the nutrition that he needs. His diet is very different than the one recommended to me by my pediatrician. And yes, that advice is unsolicited but I'm only trying to be helpful, I hope it doesn't come across as condescending or rude since that's not my intention. He's a beautiful boy and I'm happy to hear you're doing well aside from the concussion, ouch!
I know ?.
He's been drinking juice and water all day his dad said and two bottles of formula for nap time. He refuses formula unless its bed time and nap time.
I'm fine! Just working so much lol. I had a concussion from waking up and bashing my head into my head board when I thought I was late for work and I had two boxes fall on my head while working a double to help with inventory. But I'm better now!
There's nothing to apologize for, mama. You know better you do better. We have all been there, thinking that everything the doctor said is the correct way. He needs at least 4 bottles of formula right now. It was only a couple days, he'll be okay!
