Amniotic Fluid and inducing.

Amniotic Fluid and inducing.

Today I found out that I'm 2 CM and my fluid is low... I go back in Friday to get another ultrasound and if it's lower, I have to be induced...I don't know how to feel...I feel scared, overwhelmed, excited, nervous, anxious, etc. I have to finish school so I can walk across stage August 20th. Idk what to do.... I'm 37w0d. Hes estimated to be 6 pounds 9 ounces. They said he'll he healthy and will be leaving the hospital with me. I'm sorry im just overwhelmed with everything and needed to just let it out.

Just breathe, everything will be fine! Just focus on getting everything ready for baby in case you have to be induced this week. You're so close to finishing school, are you able to use these last weeks (or days) to work ahead and get things done before the baby comes?

That really sucks since I know you wanted a natural birth. But God knows what's best and if doctors say baby is healthy and good, then having him early may be a blessing in disguise.

If your fluid is low then inducing is the best route for baby. My second son was born at 36w4d and he was 6lbs 1oz and perfectly healthy and went home with me. No worries mama you got this!

@currently. I just finished one class in a week. Im on health now and started yesterday and on unit 3 out of 8. And then I have EPI. IDK if I'll be able to finish by July 29th (when summer school ends) I was supposed to graduate in may but I didn't know it was mandatory to take health and EPI until April. But im still graduating a year early.

@Eh I know im a bit upset but my child is more important than my wanting of a natural birth. It's just got me upset at first but im glad he is healthy and will be healthy when he's born. I didn't know I was leaking.

@pp that makes me feel better(: I'm just a little worried.

I would ask for the evidence that supports the recommendation to induce and would also ask to get fluids via IV before consenting to a more invasive intervention.

Between now and your next appt I would increase my fluids & do my best to rest & relax. It's hot out there right now which could definitely attribute to be on the dehydrated side.

You'll be fine. Start finishing up your work now. I had.my first child in the middle of a term, just did my homework in the hospital. This time around my water broke 2 weeks ago at 7 months. I was admitted the day before my graduation and didn't get to walk. ?? 2 weeks later I'm still in the hospital and have to live here for 5 more weeks until my baby is 35 weeks to give birth. You are lucky that this is happening at 37 weeks. When I got here my water was .4, a week and half later it was 7.1. Drink tons of water and relax. Good luck!

I was induced with DS at 36+5 and had him at 37! He was perfectly healthy even though there were multiple things that could've easily been wrong with him. He went home with me 3 days later since I ended up with a csection :-)
