It's possible that it does, but it doesn't guarantee it. It sucks when you want something and plans change. But all you definitely want is a healthy baby. And you'll get that with the antibiotics.

It's a natural bacteria, so no biggie. I had it with my LO. When they administer the antibiotics it burns a little, so ask for an ice pack.

Thank you ladies. I will do anything necessary to keep LO healthy. But it's still sucky. Im just glad I'll be holding him soon.

Why would you feel like a failure? I had it with my first and this one. Was planning on a vaginal delivery this time but instead I have a sideways breech baby and a c-section ? don't feel bad you'll just need antibiotics.

My doctor said about 90% of the world has it. Maybe do some research about your natural birth?

I was just told I probably won't have the natural birth I wanted because of the pain and not being able to move around much since I'll be on IVs. I don't believe in medication unless I really need it. I like to do natural remedies. Always been like that. But I obviously really need the antibiotics so I just got to suck it up.

You can still have a natural birth even on IV's.

I had group B with my daughter born in August 2014. I had a natural unmedicated birth with her. I even was up walking, in the shower, on my knees no issues with the IV. My only thing was you have to have two 4hr bags of the stuff and my second was fast started at 1230 and she was born at 441 and they would not break my water bag tell doc was in the room because I had only had one bag and not even a full one at that because labor was so quick and to me that was painful because I knew as soon as the bag broke my daughter would slide out and she did. Anyway it is totally possible and in my opinion quite easy to have an unmedicated birth even testing positive. Just make sure you state loud and clear and are vocal you understand you need the antibiotics but you are going to have an unmedicated birth as long as no complications arise. You will be and do just fine. Your not a failure group B is very common and just because you have it this time does not mean you will have it in other pregnancies. Good luck momma! You got this.

I was positive in my first pregnancy & i was still able to have a natural birth i was also able to walk around to help ease the contractions. I have it again this pregnancy & plan on going natural again.

I was positive both pregnancies and had pain med-free deliveries. I even labored in the tub with my second. They just put a long plastic glove over my arm with the IV in it.
