Has anyone have a non stress test?

Have any of you ladies have a non stress test? Went in for my weekly today 39w2D and still only 1cm dilated but 70% effaced. My due date is the 11th but doctor scheduled me for non stress test on the 13th. Baby heart rate was 150 and stomach measured 41. I don't know what to expect and I'm freaking out. I went from pre term labor/bed rest at 32 weeks because I was stressed with work and kept having close contractions. Now nothing is happening but back pain, plenty of pressure and moving active baby boy. I'm so scared now.

You’re welcome! Mine were just early on because I’m high risk. I’d imagine if you’ve had a healthy, smooth pregnancy that they haven’t had any reason to think he may be in distress. Which is great! I’ve heard of women getting one done before delivery just to make sure everything good and check the chances of possible c section. Just preparation for birth would be my guess! :)

Thank you for sharing. I wonder why they waited this long to give me one. I did some reading online and it scared me of some of the outcomes. Had me breakdown and cry. Once I started crying, I felt him moving and knew I needed to get strong because it bothered him. Thank you again for sharing.

Nst’s are super easy and nothing crazy. I had them with my first and now I’m 34 weeks with my second and do them 3x/weekly until he comes. All they do is hook your belly up to the monitor to get a good 30-45 minutes of continuous baby heart rate to make sure he’s not under any stress(if he is, his heart rate will decline so that’s what they look for) also t checks your uterus for contractions and irritability. You just sit there until they feel like they got enough of a reading to tell them that baby is looking just fine. The only thing that will make it take longer is if they happen to have to chase baby all over to get a consistent reading.. like if the baby moves a lot or rolls out of the way to make it so that they can’t hear the heartbeat continuously. Nothing to worry about about going though, it’s easy and they generally stick ya in a super comfy chair and you just hang out until they are satisfied lol. Good luck!
