Quick centerlink question
When I applied for the paid parental leave it included the family tax benefit, but we earnt to much money to qualify for it, now we don't. How do I go about claiming for this again, should I just ring them and tell them my income has changed or do I need to do a whole new claim?

you can either ring them and update income or download the centrelink app and update on there.
I find the app easier and quicker.

You'll need to reapply.. That's what I was told anyway. When our income was to high it cancelled out completely so had to lodge a new claim when I was eligible again.

You'll need to do a new claim on the actual website, not the app

You will need to do a new claim. Telling them/updating income will not automatically make you eligible for it. It wont do anything because it needs to be assessed first by the ftb department not just centrelink. Ftb is a seperate section to centrelink therefore they wont do anything but hand forms on to them.

It can take up to 21 working days to complete... Generally faster but that's what they say.
