How do you know if a burn is infected? My wounds have some green and yellow puss, they’re also kind of stinky. But I’ve been keeping the ointment and protective bandages on them so I’m not sure how they could’ve gotten infected🙁

Definitely infected. You may need antibiotics!

Green is infected if it’s stinks it’s rotting what ointment are you putting on it you might need antibiotics at this point if it’s green

@lovelyjane, The dermatologist just told me to use Vaseline on it until it healed, I’ve been using aquaphor.

Pus usually means infected. Ditto for stinky. Infections can happen even if you follow all the rules.
Does your doctor have a call service on weekends? I'd call, and if you don't get an answer maybe go to a walk-in or even the ER. You really don't want to mess with infections.

@nomli, My pcm has a direct messaging thing over email so I think I’ll message her and ask her what she thinks I should do.

@lovelyjane, not sure, she was the one who gave me the burns. I had to have 5 different biopsies done to check for skin cancer and she burned each spot to try and prevent it from coming back.
